Story: Wednesday Morning at St. Mungo's
The calm Wednesday morning in St. Mungo's was broken by Hermione Malfoy charging out the Floo, with a sickly looking Draco Malfoy relying unsteadily on her small frame.
"PLEASE! I NEED SOMEBODY. NOW!" Her hysterical cries for help shocked the medi-witches and healers to action, as they immediately conjured a stretcher, and gently lowered him on it.
"What happened, Hermione? We have to know everything." The Healer, Blaise asked her urgently.
"I- I don't know, we were just walking through Diagon Alley together, a-and someone just cursed him behind our backs." She sobbed. "Blaise, you have to help him." He smiled reassuringly at her, with a hand resting on her shoulder, "Hermione, he's my best friend, I'll be damned if anything happens to him, you know that." At his words, she released a sobering breath, knowing his words were right.
"Just sit out here, we'll have him up and whining in no time, love." He flashed her a quick smile, before he ducked into a room, evidently off limits to her.
"Mrs. Malfoy, you can see him now." said a short medi-witch to Hermione. She bolted off her seat, and immediately rushed to his room. Just as Blaise had said, he was up and whining about nonsensical things.
"Draco, you're whining again." came the singsong voice of his wife.
"Hermione-" he began exasperatedly, "how many times have I told you that Malfoys do not whine."
He could tell that she was still slightly shaken up from his incident, even though she was desperately trying to hide it with a watery smile, stubborn Gryffindor, so he wrapped his long arms around her, lifting her petite body to lie beside him on the tiny hospital bed. Hermione immediately snuggled into his embrace, feeling safe and content in his arms.
"I'm sorry I scared you, love." he spoke quietly; his face nestled in her sweet smelling hair. "Hermione?" he questioned, but only felt her soft, even breaths fanning across his collarbones, and smiled gently in realization that she had fallen asleep. He tightened his arms around her and soon fell to a peaceful slumber.
