Vampire Hunters & Ninja Turtles

Disclaimer: I do not own Supernatural or Angel.

Summary: They just don't make vampire hunters like they used to.

Takes place at the end of 11x21.

Part I.

Sam and Dean watched as the yellow cab and the prophet inside faded into the distance. They returned to their own car to make the trip back home.

"Do you think he'll be okay?" Sam asked, wondering if the prophet would be safe with Amara on the loose. Perhaps they shouldn't have let him leave the safety of the bunker, no matter how insistent the professor may have been.

"I think he'll be fine. He's a small-fry now that Amara knows God is back." There was a pause. As Dean slid into the driver's seat of the Impala, he asked, "You saw it, right?"

Sam assumed he could only mean one thing. "Well, no, Dean. I was trying to get Lucifer and Donatello to safety. But Metatron never came back, so I assume—"

"No, I don't mean that."

A pause. "So… you're not asking me if I saw Amara take out Metatron?"

"No, I'm asking if you noticed who Donatello looked like." Dean's voice had acquired a strange tone. He seemed almost… excited.

"He looked like your typical college professor."

"And?" Dean prompted eagerly.

"And…" Sam was at a loss. The confusion must have been evident in his tone, because Dean sighed loudly, clearly disappointed by the response.

"He's Daniel Holtz!" Sam didn't think he'd seen Dean this way in a long time. Since probably before this entire Amara business began. So he decided to humor him.

"Okay… was he in a movie or something you watched?"

"C'mon, Sammy! He's Holtz! You know, the vampire hunter?"

"Never heard of him. Was he one of Dad's old buddies?"

"One of Dad's—you are so—I can't believe this."

"Dean, I've been extremely patient with you throughout this entire conversation, but enough with the hints. Just tell me who you think he is already."

"I told you. He's Daniel Holtz, the vampire hunter. I thought you watched Buffy. And you call yourself a nerd."

"Dean, you're the one who's always calling me a nerd."

"Yeah, well, you don't deserve that title."

Sam thought back to his freshman summer, when he'd spent several weeks watching the 90s television show with his new friends, drinking soda and munching on junk food in the dorms.

"I don't remember there being a vampire hunter named Holtz in that show. Are you sure you don't have him confused with someone else?"

Dean rolled his eyes in response. "He wasn't technically on Buffy. He was on Angel, the spinoff. See, he was this awesome vampire hunter during the 18th century, but then one day he just disappeared. Nobody knew what had happened to him; most just assumed he'd finally been taken down by a vamp. But it turns out that he'd actually made a deal with a demon and traveled to the future—"

"Just drive," said Sam, cutting his brother off.

"Jerk," Dean muttered under his breath as he turned the key in the ignition. Pulling the car out onto the street, they began making their way back home to the bunker.
