The two best friends decided to have a chat on the top of the T tower. It was their favourite thing to do now and it even became a habit of theirs. Every Friday, Robin would walk over to Starfire's room and they would walk upstairs to the roof to watch the awesome sunset.

When the got there, they settled in their favourite spot and watched the sun dip into the water of the horizon.

"Wow, this is breathtaking…" Starfire whispered so soft, almost as if her voice could ruin the whole scene.

"Yep," Robin whispered back.

"Hey," Starfire got Robin's attention and looked towards him, "Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah. I mean if that wasn't your question," Robin gave a happy smile.

"Can you kiss me?" Starfire spelt out her sentence very slowly, in her heart, hoping so hard that Robin would not freak out. Well, it was quite a surprise to Robin at first but he composed himself fast.

"Why?" Robin pondered, more confused than surprised.

"Well, I never kissed a guy before…" Starfire started to fiddle with her thumbs, "And, I just wanted to know how it was like…Also because you're my best friend and who else could be bet" Starfire's sentence was cut off.

"Why not?" Again, Robin smiled and received a smile in reply from Starfire.

They shifted closer together, trying to get themselves in the positions many people did on television and in the movies. First, Starfire leaned to her right and Robin to his left. Then, Starfire leaned to her left and Robin to his right. Robin then decided to take charge. He held Starfire's face softly with his warm hands and leaned his head in the other direction. They slowly bent towards each other to close the gap between them. But before their lips met, Starfire decided to take charge too. Her hands quivered as she moved them up to Robin's face. Her hands first flinched away at first, but then slowly and surely she reached up to the ends of Robin's mask. She was surprised when Robin did not stir and simply allowed her to proceed. She took the mask off. What she saw were these sapphire eyes which lead to a never ending path of light. The pair of emerald and sapphire eyes met in a trance, they were happy and they proceeded. Their lips met smoothly. It was a delicate kiss and was over in a few seconds. But to them, it was the happiest and the longest moment of a lifetime.

"Ah…" Starfire and Robin breathed out when they let go of each other.

"Are all kisses supposed to be that…wonderful?" Starfire asked, clearly embarrassed, her cheeks were crimson, using her bangs to hide her emerald eyes from the sight of those sapphire eyes.

"No…It only feels like that when it was meant to be…" Robin dared not to look into Starfire's emerald eyes; he was getting very nervous, very shy and panicky all at the same time. As the walked off the roof they held each other's hands very delicately. Nothing else was said on the way back to their rooms. Nevertheless, they both knew that each other knew that it was meant to be. And both of them slept really nicely, with a love song playing in their minds, not wanting to let the moment go.
