(A/N: So, in this fic, Kurt's mother never died. It just works and yes, it's a short chapter. Frankly, I am horrible at writing out descriptions).
The next day when Blaine left back for Lima, Kurt finally let himself have the breakdown he so desperately needed. He wouldn't give Blaine the satisfaction of watching him fall apart the night he informed Kurt he had cheated. No, Kurt could not let that happen. Up until then, things were going so great. Why now? Everything in his life was great. He had great friends and his life in New York was fantastic. He sighed as the tears kept falling down his face.
Picking up his phone, Kurt bit his lip softly as he hit the call button, waiting for someone to answer. "Hey sweetie." He smiled, hearing his mothers voice. "Hey mom." He whispered, closing his eyes. "I talked to Isabelle... I'm coming home. I'll explain everything when I get there, I promise. Just expect me." He murmured before saying he loved her then hung up the phone. He quickly got up and started packing a few clothes then turned on his laptop, getting a ticket back to Lima for later that day. He sent a text to Mercedes knowing she was going to be back there asking if she could pick him up at the airport and drive him to his parents. "Of course I will, Kurt. -Merc"
Kurt smiled at the text then got the rest of his things ready before grabbing his wallet and walked out the door. He took a deep breath, before hailing a cab and got in, telling them which airport he needed. He closed his eyes, pretending to enjoy the ride.
"What's wrong Kurt?" Mercedes asked him as soon as he got in the car.
"Can't it be at least fifteen minutes? And I'm not in the mood to talk about it." He mumbled, shrugging. She nodded then drove off towards his house.
Walking into his parents house he smiled his first real smile since the previous night as both his mom and dad hugged him tightly. "Guys, can't breathe!" He chuckled, shaking his head as he hugged them both back.
"So what's wrong?" His mother asked him as soon as they sat down on the couch. He bit his lip softly. "Blaine..." He shook his head, "We broke up." Kurt shrugged as if it wasn't really bothering him since his dad was still right there. Apparently Burt took the hint because within a few minutes he got up and walked out of the room. Kurt smiled gratefully and watched him leave before he turned back to his mother.
"I don't know what I did wrong, mommy." He whimpered out, trying to wipe the tears from his eyes again. "H-He cheated on me..." He mumbled, shaking his head. "He fucking cheated on me!" He yelled, the anger evident in his voice before he broke down crying again as Elizabeth rubbed his back.
"I don't think you did anything wrong, sweetie." She whispered, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Maybe it's for the best. Not that it happened, but you can use the time off for yourself. Not worry about a relationship, alright sweetie?" She asked as he nodded slowly, hiccuping and hid his face against a pillow.
"Mommy..?" He asked softly, looking up at her. "Can you make me some of your soup?" He bit his lip softly and watched her nod. "Of course, babe." He grinned as she got up and walked out of the kitchen. His mom could always make things better.
