-Brotherly Squabbles-
"Listen, all I'm asking is that you stop destroying my stuff, please?" Light asked his younger brother. This argument had been going on for a couple of days, and both Light and Dark were finding it annoyingly... annoying. "Screw you man, everything you make just pisses me off! Greenery, sparkly water, animals, all of it! Don't even get me started on those nasty little beasts you call mice! I'm telling you, they'll bring nothing but disease and famine!"
Light sighed, rubbing a vein in his forehead. "Ugh... you were the one who made disease and famine." Dark threw up his hands in exasperation, flopping down on a bed of grass on promptly killing it, the green withering and turning brown. "Not to mention, you also created fire," Light started, counting on his fingers now, "death," Dark was idly killing more flowers in a bush next to him. "poison, and need I mention Grimm? Seriously?"
Dark looked at Light, a scowl on his face. "What about them?" He asked with a very edged voice.
"I mean, come on. It's like you literally took one look at every animal I decided to create, say 'Ooh, I don't like the way they look, let me make versions of them that look almost the EXACT SAME as their counterparts and just give them black skin/fur and some bone-plating!' You almost literally ripped every single one of my animal off to make those things!"
"So what of I did? I find it quite artistic and ironic," Dark replied, a sneer on his face.
"True, it's ironic for you."
"Screw you."
Light snorted, "Hmph, how original. Oh, wait..."
Dark growled and flung a dark fireball at a snow-capped mountain, completely obliterating it and scaring off several birds that were nesting in the trees above the brothers.
"Will you cut that out!?" Light roared, his body suddenly shining brightly with godly aura, causing Dark to cringe and shield his eyes. Light breathed in deeply and calmed down, rubbing his forehead again. "Sorry..." Dark sighed, idly waving his hand. "S'all right." The brothers were silent for a while until Light looked at him, a strange look in his eye. "What?" Dark asked, getting a bit disturbed at how Light was staring at him. "I've got an idea." Light held his hand out, and Dark took it, the elder brother hoisting the younger up into a standing position. "How about this: let's make something... together."
Dark's eyebrows shot into the air. "Together?"
"Together," Light agreed. "It'll be out last work, our masterpiece. How about it?" Dark, hummed and scratched his chin before a small grin came into his face. "Alright then... you've got a deal."
(A couple of centuries later...)
"... Huh... they work," Dark said, surprise in his eyes. Light was grinning from ear to ear, patting his brother on the shoulder as they watched their creations wander the planet together. "Yes indeed. Took a couple of tries, with the apes and whatnot, but we did it." Dark seemed highly proud and impressed at their creation. "They have the power to both create..." He started. "And destroy," Light finished, nodding. "Free will, the ability to learn, to choose for themselves... it really is a masterpiece," Dark said, smiling.
"Though, what should we call them?"
"Huh?" Light said, looking at his brother.
"We forgot to make a name for them. So what should we call them?"
Light and Dark thought for a couple of second before looking at each other, smiles on their faces as they said in unison, "Humanity."
