Batman: Issues
LJ58
"Say that again, the cowled hero growled at the tall, powerfully built hero in primary colors.
"Look, Bruce, I'm just saying…"
"I'm Batman. I don't have issues," the Dark Knight growled as the trio stood on a shadowy rooftop where Superman had intercepted him to have a chat about his recent erratic behavior.
Robin stood silently by, saying nothing as he noted the signs in his mentor's posture that betrayed he was not pleased. At all.
"Look, Bruce…."
"I'm Batman," he growled, and launched himself into the shadows without looking back.
Superman sighed, and shook his head.
"You know how he is," Robin said with a rueful grin, shrugging as the powerful Kryptonian looked to him after Batman had vanished into the night's shadows with a skill born of long experience.
"Have him call me."
Robin gave him a bemused expression.
"Just tell him we'd like to help."
"You know how he is," Robin shrugged again.
Superman nodded, and flew up, and away.
He doubted Robin had heard it, but as the grim detective had taken off, Superman's preternaturally sensitive hearing had heard him very clearly state, "Now, get out of my city, damn you!"
Sometimes, Superman knew, it was very hard to be that man's friend.
End…..
