If you ever leave me, I'll be sad and blue

Don't you ever leave me, I'm so in love with you

Paul sighed, it had been a long day of recording their new album Rubber Soul. But he had his boyfriend and fellow band mate John, so it was alright in the end.

The birds in the sky would be sad and lonely

If they knew that I'd lost my one and only

They'd be sad if you're bad to me

Something was bugging him though. John seemed to love him very much, but hardly said those three sweet words he longed to hear. He began to feel slightly doubtful.

The leaves on the trees would be softly sighin'

If they heard form the breeze that you left me cryin'

They'd be sad, don't be bad to me

Paul really needed to know. He looked up. "John?"

"Hmm, yeah Macca?" He shifted uncomfortably. "Do you truly love me?"

But I know you won't leave me 'cause you told me so

And I've no intention of letting you go

Just as long as you let me know, you won't be bad to me

"Of course I love you, Paulie, why would you ever doubt that?" He lifted his chin up so he'd look at him. "You just don't say it a lot, and I thought...maybe you didn't anymore..."

So the birds in the sky won't be sad and lonely

'Cause they know that I got my one and only

They'll be glad, you're not bad to me

"Oh baby, I'm sorry. I just don't always express emotions well, besides anger." Paul chuckled at that. "Yeah. Believe me, I know."

"I'm so sorry..." John looked sad. "I'll start now. I love you so much."

"I love you too."

But I know you won't leave me 'cause you told me so

And I've no intention of letting you go

Just as long as you let me know, you won't be bad to me

"Hey John?" He asked. "Hmm?"

"For how long?"

"Forever and always."

So the birds in the sky won't be sad and lonely

'Cause they know that I got my one and only

They'll be glad, you're not bad to me

They'll be glad, you're not bad to me, to me, to me
