DUMBLEDORE"S OFFICE

"An Elfin princess from Alagaesia Albus I really think-" Professor McGonagall argued.
"My dear Minerva, I'm confident that this alliance will work. Consider the benefits of such a relationship. We help the Elves find their dragon rider and we find ourselves a new unstoppable ally in the fight against Voldemort in the form of the elfin armies! And consider the chance of finding the Dragon Rider in our school and the opportunities that could bring!"

Prof. McGonagall paused for a while, :I suppose if you look at it like that. But mixing two different magic groups together again. Remember what happened when we let those half-bloods into our school! I mean the one tried to barter with Voldemort, Harry for her boyfriend!" (refers to my other story, War of Two Worlds, read it).

:Yes yes ,I remember! But this will be different! Now come, we have a hall fill of wizards expecting an explanation for the elfin guards posted around our school!" And with that Dumbledore ushered Prof. McGonagall out of his office before she could offer a word of protest.

The great hall was, as usual, filled with older confident wizards and new younger ones, completely in awe of their surroundings. Although this time, instead of the New Year gossip that usually filled the hall, concerned whispers, curious glances and various theories filtered through the hall. Everyone was puzzled by the petite warriors stationed around the school.

"Maybe they're here in case You-Know-Who comes!" a tall girl from Ravenclaw whispered.

"Azkaban's probably had a change of guard!" a boy from Hufflepuff said in a loud voice.

Harry turned to Ron and Hermione. He was relatively unfazed by the guards. But the Azkaban comment got him worried
"You don't think another death eater's escaped do you?" he whispered.
"No one who'd cause such a large-scale hunt. All the major death eaters have already escaped!" Ron muttered.

"Funny, they look kind of like Elves," Hermione whispered. 'I read about them once. But they weren't sure if they really existed."

"Like, dance-around-the-magic-toadstool Elves?" Harry asked.

"No, more dangerous. I wonder what they're here for."

"Elves? Now you've really lost it!" Ron snorted.

Hermione glared at him before opening her mouth to speak. Her words were cut off by a loud cough coming from the front. All attention turned to Dumbledore, now standing at a podium in front of the students.

"Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. I have no doubt many questions have been floating around. Let me try my best to answer them." Dumbledore said. "As you would've noticed we have some new….additions to our school." he said gesturing to the Elfin guards posted around the hall. "These guards are elfin warriors from Alagaesia, a place that does exist outside of books and theories."

Collective gasps echoed through the hall.

"These protective measures, I assure you, have nothing to do with Voldemort. They are here to protect one of their own who will be attending Hogwarts for an indefinite period of time. The Elves have sent a messenger bearing a dragon egg in an attempt to find their Dragon Rider.

The great Hall's doors started to creak open.

"Students I present to you Arya! Princess of the Elves and protector of the dragon egg." Dumbledore announced as he pointed to the now open doors.
