I can't help, I need to write something about that madness of yesterday's episode.
«YUZU!»
The woman shot from the bed startled by her name being yelled, and after an half-second she realized it was Yuya's voice.
«Yuzu, no!»
She looked beside her, finding her husband shaking in his sleep and moaning in pain.
«Yuzu! Please don't be dead!»
Everything clicked in place. He was again dreaming of her almost-fatal Duel with Sergey.
Ever since they married, they quickly discovered each other to be occasionally seized during rest by the worst of their memories of the Interdimensional War II.
In 6 years, neither had the heart of admitting it, preferring to spare the other from worrying too much.
But their little secret couldn't keep staying such for long when they shared the same bed.
Yuzu observed that despite that one being one of the rarer nightmares of Yuya's, it was ones of those that made him the most uncomfortable while asleep. And how she could argue that fact, since he had basically seen her fly with a motorcycle straight into a skyscraper that then exploded?
She herself still wasn't sure about how she survived.
Not that the two of them weren't thankful for that.
Back to the situation, Yuya seemed to be deeply disturbed, as he was starting to cry. «Please Yuzu... be alright...»
Just his tone was enough to twist her heart ever time.
She quickly wrapped her arms around him and pulled him close to her, caressing him. «Calm down Yuya...» she breathed in his ear, «I'm alive and alright.» He quickly related when he heard her light voice, wrapped his own arms around her waist and leaned his face on her chest, his breath gradually becoming slower and more regular.
«Thank god...» he muttered, protectively clutching her tightly.
This was their habit for the last decade. When one of them would have a nightmare, the other would do anything to make them comfortable and feel better.
Never they broke it.
Meanwhile, from behind the door, two little kids, one aged 9 and the other 3, were peeking the scene.
«Did mummy manage to calm daddy down?» asked the little Asuyu feebly.
Above her, Yushi smiled and looked down at her. «Yeah, she managed to this time as well.» he whispered.
The small girl smiled. «I'm happy.» Yushi then grabbed her and carrier her towards her bedroom. «C'mon, we must return to sleep without them noticing.» Asuyu pouted from his arms. «I can walk you know.» she grumbled under her breath.
Back in the bed, Yuzu was falling again asleep with Yuya still in her embrace. She smiled.
She loved her husband, and the family they made together. She wouldn't replace them with anyone or anything else in the world.
As I say, I had to write something after yesterday, so take this load of sugar to counterbalance the episode.
