This is the first time I've ever written a 'song-fic,' so I hope everything goes well.

Maybe I've convinced myself I've really been in love...

Sighing weakly, Shino pulled himself off the limp body under him.

It had been a long mission, and yet his energetic boyfriend had insisted on having sex. After all, three weeks of being denied sex drove a person crazy.

He looked down at Kiba, watching his chest rise and fall as his breathing evened out, a lazy smile stilled on his features. Shino tried to smile, but the emotion and energy to do so left him.

Shino walked towards the door, picking up his jacket and weapon holster on the way out. His hand resting on the doorknob, he turned to look back at Kiba's limp body. The last time...

For all I know the feeling and the picture that I've tried to find,

Sighing, he opened the door and walked out into the crisp autumn air, shivering as a cold breeze swept over him.

Isn't mine.

Deciding that the sooner, the better, Shino swiftly maneuvered through Konoha, and darted into the dense forest near-by.

Picking up the pieces makes me wonder if...

Illuminated only by the moon in the darkening skies overhead, he placed himself underneath a large oak tree and silently wondered whether or not this was the right thing to do.

I only build it all to watch it fall.

Of course it was, he thought to himself. Kiba deserved better... It would never work out between them anyway. The Aburames in a romance life; it never ended well.

He deserved someone he could be with. What did the boy see in Shino anyway?

And on my own, its hard to tell my heart it will be alright...

Withdrawing a sharp kunai from his weapons holster, he held it to his wrist. Watching his reflection in the black metal, a surge of anger was brought forth.

"He deserves better..."

He grabbed the hilt with both hands, and plunged the knife into his chest, gasping as pain surged through his body.

Hands trembling, he withdrew another kunai from his holster,

"Doesn't need me..."

and slit both wrists in quick succession.

He refused to scream, he refused to yield...

His eyes began to flicker as the world around him began to whirl in motion. The pain slowly began to numb, turning his body cold.

A single sob emanated from the dying boy; his world turned dark.

This love it holds will one day find a home.

"I'm sorry..."

As hard as love can be, its harder still it seems, to be a lover all alone without love.

Review and rate please.

The song incorporated with this story is 'Lover all Alone' co-written, and sung by Clay Aiken. It's a fantastic song, I recommend it.
