"Thank you for agreeing to help. My son is in a difficult position. The Death Eaters- they're after us all! He's in danger. I need to know he's safe!" the shaking woman said to her son.

"Mum, it's me, Neville," the boy said tenderly to Alice Longbottom who sat in the bed at St. Mungo's next to him. "Look, I'm fine!" He tried to smile.

"My baby is but a little boy! You can't be him, he's only sixteen months old!"

"Who am I then?" His voice cracked. The cruel hope that filled him every time he came, that his parents may actually recognise him, was quickly disappearing.

"I thought you were from the ministry, looking for my boy and Frank, looking for the Death Eaters...aren't you?" Her face dropped in horror. "Wait, you aren't with them, are you?"

"No, Mum. I mean it, I'm your son. The war is over! Voldemort's dead! It's been nearly 25 years since he disappeared the first time, Mum!" Neville was tired of being accused of being someone who he wasn't every time he visited his parents. It broke his heart that he had never even seen the pride in his parent's eyes that parents have over small things like their child's first drawing. He was one of the war heroes, for Merlin's sake, and hadn't got to see that pride. Hell, he wasn't even recognisable to them. Tears welled up in his eyes.

"Why are you crying? Are you okay?" his mother asked concerned, a glint of worry in her eyes.

Neville took a deep breath, regaining his composure, feeling suddenly very guilty about his outburst. It wasn't his mums fault. "It's okay. I'm good. How are you?"

Alice Longbottom paused, her eyes darted around the room, checking for eavesdroppers. "I'm good. Can you help me with something?" she whispered, leaning over to him

Neville sighed before closer to his mother in the bed. "Yes, what can I help you with?"

"Thank you for agreeing to help. My son is in a difficult position."
