They were sitting under the tree near the black lake where she was totally engrossed in her book.

"Shouldn't you be going to Hogsmeade with your housemate? After all they are celebrating their victory against the ravenclaws. There would be alcohol from what i heard and a party too." said Regulus, from his spot where he was lying down with his eyes closed.

"You know awful lot about what is going to happen in our common room tonight. Don't tell me you are jealous and you want to be there tonight", replied Hermione with looking up from her book.

"Jealous of Gryffindors? Pfft- the world will end before that happens. And it's not difficult to know about any gryffindor's business seeing that they have zero subtlety and they practically shout their plan. Not to forget you lot are quite predictable too", replied Regulus with a snort.

"Hmm"

"You know I am trying to have a conversation here with you and you are ignoring me. Maybe I should be hanging out with my housemates"

"If you wanted to do that you wouldn't have sought after me in the first place", Hermione said, finally putting her book down.

"Touche", Regulus murmured finally looking at her. He was looking at her thoughtfully.

"What?" asked Hermione.

"What happened between you and Sirius?"

"What happened between Sirius and I is a private and no one's business"

"Clearly not, seeing that the whole knows something and your housemates have ostracized you", he said with contempt.

"It was his choice to involve other people", said Hermione looking towards the lake. Her face was blank.

"But you are the one suffering", he pointed out.

"It doesn't matter. They can do whatever the hell they want to do. If you are suggesting that I go and clarify, I am not going to. I don't owe anyone any explanation. Like I said it's a private matter."

"I am not suggesting any clarification", said Regulus looking into her eyes, "I just want you to be happy"

"I am fine." said Hermione going back to her book.

"I don't want you to be fine. I want you to be happy", he said softly, touching Hermione's arm making her look up again.

"I will be", Hermione said.

They both went back to sitting in a comfortable silence. Regulus was looking up at the tree. He looked back at Hermione again only to catch her looking at him with a peculiar smile

"What?"

"Nothing. Didn't think you had it in you to be so-"

"Don't say it", warned Regulus

"-caring", finished Hermione laughing.

He glared at her, "you are probably rubbing off me"

"Yes I have been doing Imperious curse on you to make you my minion" she said still laughing

"Well, what else do you expect to do hanging around with Snivellus and him", came a voice from behind.

Hermione stopped laughing and they both looked back. Sirius was there. And so were the rest of Marauders.

Regulus stood up and said," Go away. You are not invited here"

"Wasn't talking to you, lover boy", spat Sirius looking at Hermione.

"Let's go." said Hermione gathering both their stuff. "We are suppose to meet Severus anyway."

"How can I forget! You are a threesome. You know I thought our relationship meant something to you but you went and jumped to bed immediately with two men. Wow! I guess you really are a whore."

"That's enough, Sirius", Hermione said holding back Regulus. "We are done. Don't make it any worse than it already is. I still have some respect for you. Please don't loose it. Walk away"

Sirius started laughing. " Like I care what YOU of all people think of me. I hate you."

"Let's go Sirius", Remus said pulling Sirius away.

"Yeh mate, she's not worth it", james said.

Once they were far enough hermione fell on her knees and started crying. Regulus sat down beside her.

"He hates me. Sirius hates me."

Regulus had nothing to say. He just hugged her and made a promise to himself to make her happy.
