He never wants her to have to choose. Never. Unfortunately, she still has to. Her father sees to that.
He still remembers that fateful day, the one that will haunt him forever. The day that Ron Weasley told his only daughter to get out and never come back. He was there. It was his fault.
He saw the hurt in her eyes when it was said, the hurt she still denies. He saw the feelings of betrayal when none of the others from her family came by. He still thinks that they are stupid for letting his precious Rose go. He wonders if any of them will ever come to there senses.
He recalls the tears she shed, when all the wedding invitations were sent back, unopened.
She still denies missing them, but he is with her on the nights when she cries herself to sleep.
He wants to curse all of them to hell, for making his Rose feel this way.
And sometimes he wonders…
Should he have let her go?
Does she regret choosing him?
He tries to give her family back to her, and rejoices with her when he finally convinces her cousins Victorie and Teddy (who are married) to come back from Japan and visit her.
He is ecstatic along with her, when she announces the upcoming birth of their first child.
He faints when they find out its actually twins.
He agrees with the names she chooses, even though he fears it will bring her nothing but pain.
He stands with her when Riley and Alfred are christened, and smiles when four more of her family come back.
He gives in to her pleas to make Roxanne, Lily, Albus, and Freddy the twins' godparents. He reminds her of what they did. She tells him to forgive and forget.
When their third child is born, he chooses her name – Cissa. She remembers the late Narcissa's help in the beginning and agrees, even though her reclaimed family does not.
When the famed Harry Potter graces them with his presence on the twins fifth birthday, he drags him over to the corner yelling at Harry for leaving his precious Rose and then waltzing right back in. At least the others were just listening to their parents, Harry was one who ordered it.
He accepts Harry's apologies after a long while and eventually, they become friends. He still remembers though.
He, however, struggles to remain calm when her father decides to come to the christening of Donald, their fourth child, without even a hint of an apology.
Thankfully, she takes care of that, with an explosion that is worse than anything Hermione or Ginny could do combined. In fact, it's even worse than Lily Luna Potter on the day her brothers shaved her head.
He thinks she did the right thing, by making her father beg for forgiveness, even if her relatives looked down on it and thought it cruel.
He smirks- they just don't get Malfoys.
