Narcissa/Draco

The Thunderstorm

Narcissa Malfoy looked down at her son, only six months old but growing up quickly. His wide curious eyes were a shining blue-ish grey and his hair vibrant blond, just like hers. She felt his head rest against her breasts and she kissed the top of his head tenderly.

It was Lucius' turn to sleep while she attended to their son.

"It's ok Draco, I'm here. Everything's going to be ok." She wiped away his tears and listened to the thunderstorm outside which had woken him up. She stood by his cot and swayed, keeping him calm.

"What about if I sing you a song?" Narcissa yawned widely but smiled down at her little baby. "Yes I know the perfect one." And Narcissa sand the song her Mother had sung to her and she hoped that Draco would sing to his children when he was grown.

Hush, little baby, don't say a word.
Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird

Baby Draco reached out to touch his Mother's familiar face and Narcissa smiled down at him, singing the next lines. Her voice was soft and reassuring. Draco's eyelids fluttered but he still wasn't going to sleep so she continued.

And if that mockingbird won't sing,
Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring

And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama's gonna buy you a looking glass

It was at this point in time, when Lucius had come to see how things were going. He stood in the doorway, listening to his wife's beautiful voice and watched her dancing on the spot. Draco snuggled up in her arms and gurgled away as if he was singing along with her.

And if that looking glass gets broke,
Mama's gonna buy you a billy goat

Lucius whispered the next couple of lines from the lullaby, making his wife glance up. She smiled at him gratefully and Draco watched his father with a small smile on his face. Lucius wipes a stray curl away from Narcissa's face and continued the next few lines, while Narcissa smiled up into his handsome face.

And if that billy goat won't pull,
Mama's gonna buy you a cart and bull

And if that cart and bull turn over,

Mama's going to buy you a dog named Rover.

Narcissa put her hand on Lucius' arm and sang the rest of the lullaby changing the words to that Lucius was the one in the song. The lightening had stopped but the rain was bucketing down.

And if that dog named Rover won't bark,

Papa's going to buy you a horse and cart.

And if that horse and cart fall down,
You'll still be our sweetest little baby in town
.

By the end of the lullaby, Draco was fast asleep. Narcissa smiled to herself and lay her son gently back into his cot and put his blanket over him, tucking him in. Then she put his toy dinosaur at the foot of his cot and said goodnight and Lucius kissed his son's forehead and took his wife back to bed, her head resting on his shoulder and his hand on her waist.

"Love you son." Lucius whispered.

"Goodnight Draco, my baby." Narcissa whispered, pulling the door closed. "Sleep tight."

Hope you liked this.

It's a cute family moment anyway.

This is one of my favourite lullabuys.
