"Aren't you glad you listened to me?" Yeshua asked softly, his tone playful.
"Until I go back to work you mean…" Wilhelm muttered, mock-annoyed.
Yeshua smiled and snuggled deeper into his lover's embrace. When he had asked the other to stay home, he had expected to be ignored, so he was thrilled when Wilhelm had agreed to spend their anniversary at home with him. With Wilhelm being as important as he was, the two of them rarely got to spend an entire day together, so Yeshua was making the most of it and was enjoying every second of it.
"Thank you." Yeshua whispered, not really expecting Wilhelm to hear.
"It's a special day for us, and this is what you want the most. Who am I to refuse that? I love you, Yeshua."
"I love you too."
Wilhelm tightened his grip around Yeshua slightly, kissing his head before letting go and pulling away. "Let me up."
"Why?" Yeshua asked looking puzzled, while hoping that didn't mean Wilhelm was leaving.
"Because I have a surprise for you and I can hardly sort it out with you sat on me, now can I?
Yeshua smiled brightly moving aside. "Don't keep me waiting too long and no sneaking off to work."
"I wouldn't dare." Wilhelm stated lightly as he left the room.
Aside from the beautiful silver choker he had bought as a permanent reminder of his affection, he had also bought a collection of various desserts. Wilhelm knew all too well that given the choice Yeshua would gladly live on sugar, so for tonight he had made sure to indulge his love for all things sweet, being sure to include favourites as well as untried delights.
Wilhelm called through for Yeshua to close his eyes before carrying everything through bit by bit, knowing his lover would wait patiently. Once everything was laid out he told Yeshua to open his eyes, smiling softly when Yeshua's eyes lit up.
"Before you start, I have something else for you too." Wilhelm stated, drawing Yeshua's attention to him.
Yeshua gingerly took the box Wilhelm held out, opening it carefully. A surprised smile made its way onto his lips when he saw the necklace, realising that Wilhelm had been paying attention to him the entire time they were together. "Thank you, it's beautiful. Help me put it on?"
Wilhelm nodded, taking the necklace and placing it gently around Yeshua's neck before fastening it. "I know it doesn't always seem that way, but I always listen to what you say, no matter what I'm doing. Hopefully this has helped you understand that. I love you Yeshua, more than anything. Now I won't hold you up any longer, go ahead and eat."
Yeshua grinned appreciatively, placing a quick kiss on his lover's lips before turning to the table full of desserts. "Thank you so much for today, it means a lot to me. You'll eat too, right?"
Wilhelm moved to sit beside him, placing a chaste kiss on the side of his head. "You're welcome, and yes I'll try some, but I don't think I can manage as much sugar as you."
Yeshua laughed softly, passing Wilhelm a spoon. "Tsk tsk, and here I thought you could do everything. Do you think we'll always be this happy together?"
"All we can do is try." Wilhelm stated softly, knowing fate had other plans for them but not wanting to think about it.
For now, the moment was perfect and nothing was going to change that. This would be a memory they could both find comfort in, regardless of what happened in the future. This was real and pure; a perfect example of their love, and that was the only thing that mattered to them both during that moment. Whatever else that was to come could wait, for now they had each other and that made everything right.
Yes, I know it's really short and pointless. It's written in the hopes that it might make Shaami feel better but I thought I'd let everyone see it to make up for chapter 21 of Tempus Fugit.
Hope you enjoyed, let me know please. Thanks! Laters.
