Pepper flipped the bottle delicately around in her pale hand. A smirk danced across her face as she walked over to the large tray of drinks that rested on one of the tables. The heat of the kitchen only made her feel more mischievous as she popped the cork off of the bottle. The instructions on The Potion were quite clear. Pour one drop into a liquid of your choice, and one drop in another, and the two people who drink the glasses with the potion in it will fall in love. Shake the bottle, and you can do the same with another set of drinks, for a different set of people.

Set before the Cook were 12 identical cups, each organized into two separate rows, all filled with the exact same liquid. Her eyes sparkled playfully as she gently poured one drop from the bottle into each of the first two cups. Pepper then put the cork back onto the bottle and shook it violently. She waited with an eerie sort of delight until the color of the liquid changed before repeating the one drop ritual for the next two cups in line, then once again put the cork back on and shook.

She continued this process until each cup had one drop in it, save one. Pepper eyed her own cup suspiciously, biting the corner of her lip in debate, then shrugged, and dumped the last of the Love Potion into her cup.

Though the liquid in the bottle had changed color, each drink still looked exactly same. Pepper smiled broadly, placing the bottle in the front pocket of her apron. She then began what looked like one of those "Find-the-cup-that-has-the-ball-in-it" games, mixing and matching the cups in a manner such as "You belong here, and you go here, no this one goes next to this one, but this one should go here…" And so forth until she completely satisfied with the random order.

Only then did she pick up the tray and bring it out to The Great Hall where the rest of the Kingdom awaited their drinks, unsuspecting the foolishness which had just commenced.
