Looking For A Way Home.

By: allie.

Setting: When Samantha just started out in Jack's unit.

When I asked him what he did for a living he told me,

"I look for people who can't find their way home."

I was confused by his statement, because how can you

find someone who can't find their way home?

As time went on I grew to understand what he said that

day. He looked for people who thought they had nothing,

and thought that no one would notice that they were gone.

He told me once that I remind him of someone he looked

for once, and I asked him what he meant. He told me that he

thought that I was lost, but I hand found where I was

meant to be. I don't know if I believed him at the time.

Sometimes late at night and we were the only one's around, I would

see him sitting at his desk, and he would look so broken. I would hate

to see him like that. He always looked like he has lost his puppy after

he was not able to find someone, and I think that he took it upon himself

to try and find each one as they could not find their way home.

Ah, but to those who he was able to find, and to catch. They looked at him like he was an angel, and in many ways he was. He put them before himself, and he suffered for it.

I think that he was broken and he was trying to fix himself by helping other

people. He was a hero to those he found, and even to those he didn't.

Because he never like to close a case. It was up to him, he was the last restrot, and if he lost them they would forever be lost.

Just like he was.
