ALL I GIVE (Gundam 00 - Setsuna, Marina, PG)
Disclaimer: Gundam 00 is (c) to Sunrise.
She forces him to land, her whimpering becoming to hard for him ignore, her pleading hands insistent (crawling) against his arm. He's forcing himself against his better judgement which is to fly away to safety, back to the Ptolemaios II. But he goes forward, landing the craft only yards away from the burning wreckage of Azadistan.
Marina, the young princess and one who insisted on the landing of the craft, quickly releases Setsuna's arm and runs towards the exit. She has the hatch opening and is descending the stairs before Setsuna can even protest. He wants to yell to her it's safer to watch inside than out. The possibility of who or whomever did this still being around is very likely. And turning around to survey the wreckage, Setsuna can make a almost accurate guess he knows who was responsible.
He'll deal with that later, right now he quickly chases after the princess. She hasn't ventured far, she's unable too because the flames are everywhere. She stands motionless, her black hair whips around her like the flames whip up buildings and across ground. Setsuna watches her small shoulders shake and without even having to look upon her he knows there are tears streaming down her delicate face.
He bites down hard and clenches his fist together. She shouldn't see this. He should pull her away from all this horrible destruction and whisk her away to a much happier place. Since meeting the princess (though at the time he didn't realize she was royalty) he had pegged her as the type of person who's kindness knew no bounds and who's sole purpose in life was to be happy and spread happiness around. Not be involved in war. Because war was what was going on around them. The pure war hungry instincts of a madman gone psycho.
"Marina, we have to go." He tells her, walking forward slowly as to not startle her. He stops barely inches and catches some of her hair inside his hand. It's so fine and silky and he lifts it to his nose to smell the apple shampoo. He surprises himself, he isn't the sentimental type, so why did he just do that? He chalks it up to curiosity because distantly he hears rumbles and his instincts kick in and tell him danger is approaching.
He doesn't call the her name, he just grabs a hold of her wrist and takes off, dragging her limp form behind. He does glance back before entering the craft. She sports the features he figured she would after seeing her home in flames. Those delicate cheeks are stained with crystal tears and the eyes which these tears come from are dull and distant, crying out for someone (anyone) to save her home. They're also asking why, why her home? Who? What?
Setsuna can't answer her now, or maybe ever. The only thing he's capable of doing at the moment is getting her to safety. He does that, and as Azadistan (or what's left of it) becomes smaller and smaller behind them, Setsuna looks dangerously ahead.
"I promise, Marina. He will pay."
