Prologue

The little lost girl was sitting in the darkest corner of her dirty room; she hugged her knees tight and buried her face between them; hiding in the shadows, trying to become invisible to the rest of the world. She didn't want them to see how hurt she was; how vulnerable she had become… The tears fell from her beautiful but empty eyes, running down her cheeks; touching her bruised and red lips. She could taste the saltiness, the sadness, the loneliness.

Loneliness was once again by her side, taking care of her broken heart and shattered soul, cleaning up the pieces of the love she saw been destroyed in the blink of an eye. She knew she would never regain what she'd lost that eventful night; she knew she was lost forever.

The pain was surreal; she had never experienced something so powerful and so intense. She could feel everything; the burning inside her veins, the excruciating ache right between her lungs, where her heart used to be, the emptiness in her chest… She had never thought someone could actually die from heartbreak, but now she wasn't sure.

She wanted to die. She didn't want to feel anymore… It was just too painful, too real… She heard herself releasing a desperate and choking scream, but there was no one around to save her from her misery. Not anymore.

He was gone; and he took her heart with him. He had killed her the moment he left through that door and now… Now she was dead.
