The Piper

After the book Terrier

Rosto looked toward the door of his throne room. He saw the dogs, Tunstall, Goodwin, and Beka come through the door.

"Yes?" Rosto asked the dogs.

Beka was looking at him. He then remembered what he looked like. Rosto was all right looks wise; he had yellow white hair and black eyes. He also had a lot of scares, on his face and arms. The latest one was from Kayfer Deerborn, the old Rouge.

" The happy bag, Rouge," Tunstall said.

"Of course, Aniki?" he asked.

Aniki Forfrysningwas one of Rosto's second in commands. Aniki was an excellent swords woman. His other second in command, Kora Ingensra, was a mage. She was not good at all magic, but defensive is her specialty.

Beka, how are you? He was asking in his mind. Did you miss me, my dear? He was very in love with her.

"No Rosto," Kora whispered in his ear. "Play nice. You of all people know a pup can't play with you, as much as you want to."

"I know, I know. Things were simpler, even if dangerous almost all the time, in Scanra."

"Never mind, Scanran pretty boy. You even have gray hair!"

"Its blond!" he said, "Blond!"

"What wrong, Rosto the Piper?" Goodwin asked.

"Nothing, DOG!" He said like it was a gross word.

Beka looked mad. Beka Cooper had a very unnerving mad look, her ice gray eyes turning very very unnerving. Her long red-brown hair was in a tight braid.

"What's wrong, dog not good enough in your court?" Beka asked.

"Yes, but maybe puppy isn't. Eh?" one of the high-class spintrys said.

"Shut it, spintry!" Goodwin shouted. "She is on the job!"

"Oh, why?" the spintry asked

"Because she said. This is not Kayfer's court, this is MY court. Just cause' Kayfer aloud harassing the dogs, don't mean I do!" Rosto told him.

"Fine!" he answered.

"Thanks, rouge, but we can stick up for our selves."

"Suit your self."

"See you at home, Beka," Aniki said.

Beka only nodded.

She's a dog, I'm the rouge, she's a dog, I'm the rouge! She can't go a courting with the rouge! Or marriage... Rosto thought.

"Rosto, she called you piper," Aniki said. "How did you allow it? You haven't let anyone call you 'piper' since Kayfer Deerborn. I'm amazed."

"What, can't a cove change?"

"No, at least not you. You're no everyday cove. You're a bit cracknobed."

"I am not. Really Aniki."
