Bleh, I'm just writing this because my mom's making me clean my room for my birthday party tonight, I'm stalling as usual.
Zick and Elena walked side by side down the sidewalk, backpacks slung over their shoulders. Though they could fight a lot, they could agree that school sucked.
"So anyway, Mattie and Pattie kept calling me to ask if you'd 'asked me out yet.' They can be so annoying! We're only friends, right Zick?" Elena laughed. Zick forced a laugh as well, but it felt empty, it held no meaning.
"Right, that's all we'll ever be."
But you wish we could be more.
Zick frowned slightly. Since when did he start having those feelings? And toward Elena, his closest friend?
He felt his phone vibrate and took it out of his pocket.
"Hello," he answered. Giggling could be heard on the other end.
"Zick, have you asked Elena out yet?" Zick frowned again and hung up.
"Who was that," Elena questioned. He grimaced.
"Our 'worst best friends'." Elena grimaced as well.
"What did they want?"
"'Zick, have you asked Elena out yet'," he mocked in a voice higher than his own. They both burst out laughing.
As Zick watched Elena out of the corner of his eye, he couldn't help but think of how beautiful she looked.
Maybe I should ask her out...
Nah, it could ruin our friendship.
Possibly, but it could also create a new relationship between up.
As they parted ways, Zick was left to think over these new thoughts.
