Yu-Gi-Oh

She leaned against the counter, relaxed as she stared at a poster on the wall. It was a picture of the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl, two very rare and powerful cards. She wasn't sure why, but it seemed as if those two cards meant something to her. It was weird, like she had a bond with them, stronger than just master, monster relationship. She wished that the cards were real, that she could speak with them and maybe understand exactly what she was feeling.

Of course, she kept her thoughts to herself. What she dreamed was no one else's business, besides, everybody would just laugh at her. Well, behind her back anyway. People didn't dare to laugh at her face, because they knew she didn't put up with it.

Even Kaiba refrained, barely, from calling her names and looking down on her in public, since she usually showed him up and he didn't like his fellow classmates knowing she could continually outwit him with her arsenal of smart remarks. So he only tried his luck when they were alone, which hardly ever happened in the first place.

They hated each other with a passion.

She had adopted Joey's nickname for him, Moneybags. It was a very clever moniker and it just stuck.

"Get to school!" A sudden slap of the hand on the counter in front of her made her jump and she looked up into the eyes of Mr. Motto, her grandpa.

She grumbled, "I'm going, I'm going."
