At Forest Hills Gwen Stacy came home from a boring high school day and saw a moving truck in front of the house next to hers. She looked at the entrance of the house to see employees of a moving company dropped cardboard boxes and furniture, helped by a woman in her thirties with blond hair, hazel eyes wearing denim trousers and a T-shirt representing a skull hanged by a chain. And also of a young man the same age as Gwen with black hair, strangely red eyes wearing a black jog and a leather jacket. Gwen stepped in to talk to them and spoke to the woman.
"Uh, hi." Gwen said attracting the woman's attention.
"Hi. Can I help you ?" The woman asked.
"No, actually, I live in the house next door so I wanted to welcome you." Gwen replied.
"Ah thank you. My name is Beath. Me and my son, we just arrived in the neighborhood." Beath introduced himself as his son had just come out of the house to pick up another card and saw Gwen.
"Oh, hello. I guess you're the neighbor." The young man said.
"Yes. My name is Gwen Stacy." Gwen introduced herself to her two new neighbors, who was being held tight by Beath and followed by her son.
"Nice to meet you. My name is Travis. Stacy. Like Captain Stacy?" The young man said to Gwen.
"Yes, it's my father. Why?" Gwen asked.
"It's just to know. I'll take care of other things." Travis said somberly before leaving to help the employees.
"What does he have?" Gwen asked.
"Something happened two years ago that made him angry with the police force." Beath explained.
"Oh. I am sorry." Said Gwen thinking that his father involved him, since he and his mother seem to be the only ones moved in.
"It's nothing. The investigation was abandoned, and he still has not digested it. It isn't a person who forgives easily." Beath explained.
"Okay. I'm sorry, but I have to go home. I have duties to do for high school. Goodbye." Gwen said, before leaving leaving Beath continued her move.
A week later
At Midtown High School Gwen picked up business in his locker and when she was about to close the door was pushed by the new neighbor Gwen pressed against the lockers by Flash Thompson noise which attracted the attention of all those present in the corridor.
"Do you know what's happening to the new guy in this high school?" Flash asked Travis.
"Undergoing the lack of originality in the punchlines?" Retorted Travis annoying Flash who punched him in the jaw and knocked him to the ground. He was about to hit him again before Gwen stepped in.
"You'll stop Flash!" Gwen ordered.
"Otherwise what, Stacy?" Are you going to call your father? Flash said.
"Yes. And how old are you ? 18 years old, if I'm not mistaken. It is thus blow and wound on minor. You will end up with a criminal record which will close a lot of opportunity to have a job for you. Or you could create a new Peter Parker." Gwen argues in her threat and raising a sensitive subject with all the high school.
Flash leave, deliberately shoving students who were in the passage. The crowd dispersed and Gwen helped Travis get up.
"Are you okay?" She asked him.
"Yeah. Just a little scratch." He replied, wiping blood dripping from his lip with his sleeve.
"Are you sure? The blow was very strong. You should talk to the director." Gwen advised.
"Bad idea. It would only upset that kind of bastard. And then I'm used to rub them. But thank you for helping me." Travis said thanking Gwen for help.
" You're welcome. Must help each other between neighbors." Gwen said amicably.
"Who is this, Peter Parker you talked to the asshole?" Travis asked.
"It's a delicate subject here. It was the one that Flash brutalized before." Gwen said sadly.
"If you do not want to tell me anything, do not say anything. I will not blame you." Says Travis.
"No, it's nothing. He lived in the house in front of mine. He ended up creating a way for that avenged, he turned into a kind of mutant lizard. And he tried to kill them, but Spider-Woman intervened. You must have heard about it in the news or in the journal of the fight between Spider-Woman and "the lizard" a month ago." Gwen explained.
"No. I stopped watching TV and I have not read the newspapers for a long time." Travis says.
"Spider-Woman beat her, but when he became normal again, but he died when the police arrived. Police and most of the city think Spider-Woman is Peter's killer. Since then, she's a fugitive. Some students have testified, but the mayor does not care." Gwen finished saying sadly.
"I'm sorry for your friend. But let me tell you something. Most people are stupid and have not tried to listen to the testimonials. Because if they wanted to do the interesting, they would have invented something more credible and they would not have passed the word. And I think I know why he's dead." Says Travis, interesting Gwen.
"Really?" Gwen asked suspiciously.
"Yeah. In many fantastic works, involving a potion, a simple mistake in the dosages causes the desired effects and the passage of unwanted side effects. It is surely his work that killed him." Travis replied.
"It's logic. And, I'm sorry for the investigation that was dropped by the police." Gwen said.
"Then my mother told you about it. It is not your fault. I just want to know why the investigation was abandoned. I went to the police at least twenty times. And each time, they sent me shit." Travis said, before leaving for his classroom leaving Gwen curious about this famous investigation.
The same evening on the police premises, the window leading to the archives opens and a woman wearing a black and white suit with pink contours at the level of the eyes, a hood with a white canvas inside on a pink background introduced into the room. She searched through the archives until she found a box marked "The John Stone Affair".
"It must be that. If the police do not continue the investigation. So Spider-Woman will continue it." She said before leaving with the box before weaving webs, swaying from building to building, making sure not to lose the box.
