OOTW Base, Atlantic Ocean
My name is Daniel Hockad. I used to think I was a nobody. That I was an average American citizen. But all my life I was told I was special. Never really knew why at first. But weird things started happening ever since I got that necklace on my 15th birthday, which had a black dragon with a red tailfin. Ever since then, I had crazy dreams about someone in a flight suit and a mysterious island. For years, I was wondering what it meant. But I finally found out just last week.
I was taken into an organization called the Order of the Wing, which has existed for over a thousand years. There, I found the truth. One, dragons, creatures from stories and legends, were real, hiding away from human eyes. And two, I discovered I was the descendant of a Viking called Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Weird name, I know. It felt too much for me to take in, but I think I'll get used to it.
They said it was my destiny to embrace Hiccup's life. I was put in a machine called the Memory Exploration Device (or M.E.D. for short) and relived my ancestor's countless adventures. I saw his various close calls with death, witnessed his relationship with his dragon, Toothless, and discovered secrets only he knew. But my journey into the past isn't yet complete. Some of Hiccup's memories from my DNA is still encrypted, so the Order needs time to unlock it. Recently, in February 2018, they unlocked his final memories on Dragon's Edge, which bridged the events of when he became Chief. I think I'm becoming closer to him than I thought.
Now, I'm part of a team. The descendants of the other Riders of Berk are going through the same thing as me, unlocking their ancestors' secrets through their eyes. The Order is keeping an eye on us, but we're not staying at that Atlantic Ocean base for long, or forever. If we did, I would have felt like a prisoner.
Together, we must stop a threat from the past from rising once more. A terrorist organization called the Bloody Fists, reborn from the legacy of Drago Bludvist, seeks power over anything else. And it's up to us to stop them…
