He was crying. Chat Noir never cried, but there he was giant sobs wracking his body, tears streaming down his face. She quietly walked up behind him.
"What's wrong Chaton?" She asked in a soft voice. He jumped at her words.
"Ladybug" He choked out "I'm sorry you have to see me like this." He tried to grin, but it came out a grimace. She wrapped an arm around him.
"Do you want to talk about it mon minou." She soothed him with her voice. He shaked his head quickly, but then slowly nodded.
"It might give away my identity." He tried to warn her, but she smiled a sad smile at him.
"Then it's time to stop hiding." She whispered. He stared at her, did she really mean that? She nodded at him so he started.
"I was supposed to see my father today." she frowned
"What do you mean, today?" She asked hesitantly.
"I haven't seen my father in months. He's a businessman and doesn't have the time. But today was a special day, that we usually spend together."
"Months!" she gasped then added slowly "What special day?" He smiled bitterly.
"It's the three year anniversary of my mother's disappearance." She gasped and hugged him tighter.
"Adrien" she breathed with a sense of familiarity and he blinked.
"Do you know me?" He asked "Apart from my career that is." he added quickly
"Of course I know you. You're Adrien' to nice to hurt anyone, in love with Ultra Mega Strike III, always smells like cheese and adores my families cookies' Agreste" She watched him for a response
" Adores my families cookies." He muttered, then a light flicked on in his brain.
"Marinette?" He asked softly
"Yes Kitty." She cradled him "And I'm always here for you, you hear me." She demanded "I'll give you all the love that you don't give from your father. My family is your family, my home is your home."
"You really mean that?" He asked with tears dripping down his face. She kissed the tears away.
"I do Chaton, that's a promise." and they stayed like that for the rest of the night, Adrien crying and Marinette with her arms around him, even after they detransformed. Nothing could keep Marinette from helping her Kitty and nothing could keep Adrien from loving his Lady.
