Like magnet.

A DxC one-shot. No haters please; maybe this will explain why I love the couple as much as I do…

The story, obviously, is from Courtney's point of view.

My mind was elsewhere the day Simon said this to me, I had been back from Total Drama Island for almost a year, it was the beginning of June, and the school year was almost done. I thought about the boy I met last Summer, and wondered what was in store for us this year.

I never understood the attraction I felt towards him, Duncan, I mean; I just knew there had to be a reason. I thought about this as I looked through some of my old science pages from the second grade. I needed to check something for the little boy I was tutoring, this last Science test was his last chance to pass not only the class, but also the grade! And that's when I found what I was looking for.

"When it comes to magnetism, opposites always attract, and 2 of the same will never stick together."

I explained this to the boy the next afternoon, Wednesday at 4:30, our usual session. "Do you know what I'm saying, Simon?" I asked him, the brown-haired, green-eyed pale boy looked at me, obviously thinking about what I had just explained, I worried that I'd used too much detail for him, he was in mostly remedial classes, everything but math, and I swear, I've heard him rattle off numbers, and I wondered how he could be so smart, but be stuck in remedial classes.

"Miss Courtney, did you hear what I said?" he asked, pulling me from my train of thought. I'd been losing my focus way too often lately, I worried that I was starting to look like a ditz. "No, sorry, my mind was elsewhere, what did you say?" I admitted. "Well, I compared how opposite magnets attract to something…" Simon trailed off; it was slightly hard to understand him with his retainer. I sighed; he was also very shy, so sometimes I had to push him to get his thoughts out. "What did you compare it to?" I asked, curiously.

"Well, after watching you two on Total Drama Island, what you said reminded me of you and Duncan being together." He answered, looking me straight in the eye.

So, that was short. Just a little drabble I thought of while editing some pictures on paint—I realize I should be focusing on Total Drama high, but I couldn't stop thinking of this—and I have some bad news, my computer crashed recently, be ready to fill out another form, all of you OCs :( , I'm so sorry!
