Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto. All I own is my own twisted little plot.
Okay, this is just a little thing that popped into my insane mind when I watched this episode for the first time. I know, I'm insane.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Also, I'm not sure if I've got the start of the scene right, and I'm too lazy to check.
Sasuke breathed heavily with exertion as he eyed his opponent from across the small space. At least the sensei had put away his book. He was looking at Sasuke with a little caution, but still an overall relaxed demeanor. It was unclear whether it was a front, or he really was relaxed, but either way Sasuke wasn't about to underestimate him again.
He crouched, subtly putting his weight on his toes as he prepared to spring. He launched himself into the air at the same time as Kakashi jumped to avoid him. The Uchiha managed to alter his course slightly until he was headed straight for the sensei, his eyes trained on the elite ninja's face but his mind on the bells attached to his waist. He had to pass this test.
He reached for them stretching the gap as his other hand battled with Kakashi's arm to distract him. It worked for a few moments, which was all he needed. There were only centimeters between his fingertips and the silver bells. With a grunt, he put that little bit of extra effort to propel himself further into the air.
His eyes alighted as Kakashi glanced down, his eyes widening in shock as he realized what was happening. He moved to stop Sasuke, but he was too slow. It was already happening. Sasuke reached forward, snatching at the bells as triumph soared through his mind—
But it wasn't the bells he grabbed. He had overstretched, grabbed something else.
They both froze. They both stared at the younger ninja's hand. He was clutching at something long and soft—and fleshy.
And definitely not bells.
