The Wheel of Time turns ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten by the time that the age that gave it birth comes again. In one age, called the third age by some, an age yet to come, an age long past, a storm swept in from the ocean.

It flowed past grassy hills, over misty mountains, across great forests and finally over two great rivers, it turned west. By the time it reached a burning city it was just a heavy rain.

Talmanes looked out over the now-smoldering city of Camlyn. An army of shadow-spawn had suddenly popped up in the city and attacked. Fires had broken lose and destroyed most of the old city. Thank the light it had only lightly touched the new city. Despite the trollocs' efforts they were no match for all the mercenaries outside the city and the Andor army. Still casualties were outstanding. The band had lost a good many men today.

"Blood and bloody ashes" yelled Mat stepping out of a gateway with Moraine and Thom "what happened to Camlyn?"

Talmanes smiled. "So, you escaped from the snakes and foxes?"

"Not all of us" were Mat's reply.

"Noal?"

"He was Jain bloody Farstrider"

"Well that was… unexpected" Tamanes's smile turned into a frown. All this time and he had no idea that the most famous person had lived with them. "Elayne wants to see you" as Talmanes and Mat walked, he told Mat what had happened. "Then Oliver got 5 or 6 Dragons shoved them all down one launching tube, fired at the waygate and well… Boom!" finished Talmanes.

"Hey, where's Perrin?" asked Mat.

"He went to the field of Mellior," replied Talmanes. Mat looked down at the carcass of a Trolloc. Wait a minute did that Trolloc just move? Wham! The last thing Mat saw was Talmanes drawing his sword, and then everything went black.

Egwene stepped out of her tent; the hall had called an emergency meeting. Hurrying over to meeting Egwene wondered if the hall would remember that they gave her right to deal with Rand. She took her place in the Amyrlin's seat.

"Mother" asks a sitter for the brown "should we not send a red sister to meet with the Dragon Reborn?"

"No" replies one from the blue "a green would be better."

"A red would deal with the dragon reborn"

"The Dragon Reborn is no more than 5 leagues away and here you are squabbling like little children! We need a compromise so I propose that we take one sister of each ajha and an escort of 50 warders." The hall agreed to these terms.

Siun watched as she and other sisters went into Rand's tent. As they entered the light of two powerful tavern momentarily blinded Siun. After she got over her shock, she noticed that they were not the only Aes Sedai in the tent. Moraine was still alive? Egwene said that she was dead, died killing a forsaken. She looked around only to find Egwene just as bewildered.

A creature that was once human but is no longer, Palidin Fain, sunk his teeth into soft skin. Soon he could taste warm blood, his victim fell away dead. The creature smiled taking out the dagger cut his hand, and watched as the red blood streamed out. Quickly darkness from the blade of the dagger shot in to fill the cut, one half red and one half black. Such beautiful two colors swirling in his body. If only everyone could see so. Oh well, they will all die any way. Fain did not care, as long as he got rand he will be satisfied, his hunt would be justified. He will finally get to rest knowing his duty had been fulfilled. Red and black swirling forever, but for a second Fain thought it was black and white.
