"Rose, look out!" her best friend, Scorpius, yelled to her. It was too late, however, and Rose went tumbling down with the rest of the rocks and came to rest far below.
"Rosie! Hang on! I'm coming!" Scorpius screamed as he bolted back down the path. 'It's my fault. I just had to show her the view. If she's hurt, I'll never forgive myself!' he thought as he came to a halt at the bottom of the hill.
"Rosie! Where are you?" he bellowed as he frantically searched for any sign of his friend's pale, small body. Even though she looked like her father, Rose got her height from her mother. She barely reached Scorpius's shoulder, and he himself was hardly average height.
Finally, he caught a glimpse of fiery red hair and sprinted towards it. When he finally reached Rose, he dropped to his knees and placed her head on his lap. She was unconscious. He couldn't tell if she was injured or not.
"Rosie, please wake up! Please!" Scorpius pleaded as he brushed some wayward curls away from her face.
Finally, just as Scorpius was beginning to fear the most, Rose gave a feeble moan and awoke.
"Rosie! Thank Merlin. Where are you hurt?"
"My legs. Oww!" Rose whimpered.
As Scorpius examined her legs, he wondered how he hadn't noticed them before. They were drowning in blood, and he was sure he saw a bit of bone on the right leg.
"Oh my Merlin! Hang on, Rosie. I'll take care of you." Scorpius stated as he began ripping his robes into strips for bandages.
As he secured her wounds, he noticed her stifling groans of pain, while turning paler and paler. 'I've got to get her to Madam Pomfrey. And fast!' he thought as he tightened the final bandage.
"Okay, Rosie, lift your arm up."
"No way, Scorp. You can't carry me." she protested.
"Rose, I'm sure I can manage. Don't you trust me?" be asked in a hurt voice.
"Of course I trust you. Don't be absurd. I just don't want you to hurt yourself."
"I'll be fine." and with that, he scooped her up and began to walk.
