Mal
Mal woke up the morning after the coronation to loud hits on her door. She, begrudgingly, got up to open the door. Once she did she found a royal attendant carrying flowers and a note. She thanked him and put the flowers on the table while opening the card.
"Dear Mal,"she read"these are for you :) Meet me at the Enchanted Lake at 10. Much Love, Ben"
She couldn't stop the slow smile that spread across her face. She looked up at the clock. She realised that she had slept late and only had 30 minutes. She hurriedly put on a dress and ran across campus and down the bridge toward the Enchanted Lake ruins. As the lake came into view, she saw Ben sitting at a makeshift table, putting together a picnic. She smiled and slowed to a walk. As Ben heard her, he turned to smile.
"I thought you would be late" he said with a smile
"I woke up late" she said, defensively
He chuckled lightly as she sat down. She dug in to the picnic as she turned to ask "So what is this mysterious meeting for?"
"I wanted to see you" he said, blushing. She blushed and continued eating, looking for an excuse not to look at him. They talked for a while, eventually sitting on their backs on the floor, cloud-watching.
"That one is a dog next to a cat" Mal whispered, comfortably lying next to Ben, her head on his shoulders.
"Be a little more creative. They could be on their first date or going to his coronation" he whispered back, earning a chuckle
"Well, hopefully she won't have a sadistic mother who tries to kill everyone"
"You never know. Maybe she spelled him. It would put a new meaning on the words puppy-love"
Both of them chuckled at that. As Mal looked up, she saw Ben staring at her. She had been dodging his kisses because she had never kissed anyone before, and how would she know if she was good at it? It didn't really matter because he would kiss her and she wouldn't be able to do it and he would go back to Audrey. She let all the insecurities she had felt before the coronation seep into her mind, before she realised that Ben was leaning in. Panic flooded her. What did she do? So she decided to throw caution to the wind and let him kiss her.
Ben
I couldn't believe that she was actually letting me kiss her. I quickly got over that though as I got back to the task at hand. Our lips slowly moved together, and the feeling was brilliant. This was, by far the best kiss he had ever had. He desperately wanted to deepen the kiss, but he didn't want to force her into anything. He decided to slowly move his tongue over her lips. She was surprised but got the point and opened her mouth. Our tongues fought for dominance, with me eventually winning. I explored her mouth, letting her do the same afterword. When we eventually came to our senses I realised we had been kissing for 4 hours. It was time for lunch. I watched her get up and straighten herself up. I hadn't quite realised how beautiful she was until the spell washed off. I had noticed it as soon as she stepped out of the car on the first day she came, and had had a sizeable crush on her, but didn't really notice it until the spell washed off in the lake. Then it had taken him so much by surprise that he simply had to sit and marvel at her for a moment.
"Were are we having lunch?" she asked quietly, glee shining in her eyes
"How about the castle? It is private, so long as you can suffer through a dinner with my parents first." I meant it jokingly but she honestly looked terrified at the thought of my parents. I held out my hand and said "Don't worry. I'll be here." I watched her smile and take my hand, before we set off for the castle.
