"Rosie, won't you please show me your Patronus?" my best friend, Scorpius, begged me as we left Professor Lupin's Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.

"No, I won't. The shape my Patronus takes is between me and Professor Lupin."

"But why won't you tell me?" he persisted as we made our way to the Great Hall for lunch.

"It's too personal. And besides, you never showed me yours." I retorted as I sat down and pulled a plate of sandwiched towards us.

"Mine's personal, too. Besides, aren't best friends supposed to know everything about each other?" Scorpius asked in a hurt voice.

"Tell you what, Scorp. Let's make a deal. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. Okay?" I asked hopefully. To tell the truth, I was dying to show someone my corporeal Patronus. I'd been making shield Patroni for years, but today was the first time I had managed to make it take shape. The only problem was that Scorpius was actually the last person I wanted to see it. Ah well, beggars can't be choosers.

"Deal! Let's do it now." Scorpius said as he jumped up and grabbed my arm.

Together, we ran out of the Great Hall.

"Ready, Rosie?"

"Ready."

"Okay, on 3. 1, 2, 3!"

"Expecto Patronum!" I yelled.

"Expecto Patronum!" answered Scorpius.

Almost immediately, two forms took shape. Nothing could prepare me for what I saw. From my wand came and scorpion. And from his came a weasel.
