Bella/Edward
She sat there, emotionless and posed with the silver razor that seemed to inch closer to her wrists. Sobbing and shaking, she put it to her wrist and pressed slightly. The blood started to flow more freely as she started the straight line she was so used to.
With each cut, she started to feel the pain more and more. "Finally," she breathed, the voice raspy from days without use.
She lay back on her bed and resumed cutting. Suddenly the door slammed open and Alice stormed in. "Bella! " she exclaimed upon seeing the cuts across her wrist. She grabbed her nose and talked again. "Why would you do this?" she grabbed her wrist and looked to see multiple scars lining her arms.
"You would too," Bella said in an emotionless voice. "If you had been through what I've had to."
"I need to call Edward," Alice muttered to herself shaking her head and looked at Bella with horror in her face.
"Edward?!" Bella suddenly snapped to attention. "Where is he? Is he here?!"
"So the person she responds to is the person who hurt her, "Alice muttered. "Bella, Edward wouldn't want you doing this to yourself."
Bella only glared at her. "Edward," she said in an angry voice. "Doesn't care about me. If he did, he would be here right now."
Alice stepped back in shock. "Don't say that Bella!"
"And why shouldn't I?" Bella asked, her voice calming back down to the monotone voice she had developed.
"Don't you dare say that because you don't realize how badly Edward was affected by leaving, " Alice yelled, losing her cool.
"It's his fault for leaving, " Bella reminded her. "He's that one that just up and left me."
"I.....I need to call him," Alice muttered flipping out her phone. She hurriedly dialed his number and after a few rings, Edward's voice was heard.
"What do you want Alice? I'm not in the mood to deal with you," Edward's voice was agitated.
"This is important Edward. I'm in Forks," Alice told him.
"You're in Forks?!" Edward yelled into the phone. "Are you stupid? We need to leave Bella alone."
"Edward, you can't see her right now like I can," Alice said, glaring to the phone. "When I came into the room, she was cutting herself. Hell Edward, she has scars on her wrists from past cutting."
"SHE WAS WHAT?" Alice had to hold the phone away from her ear to actually hear the words he screamed.
Bella took the phone from Alice and spoke into it. "Yeah I was cutting myself. But why the hell do you even care?"
Edward didn't know what to say to that. "Bell....Bella I do care about you. That's why I left you."
Bella sighed and shook her head tot he phone while Alice just stood there. "You're so stupid. Don't you realize that leaving me didn't do any good at all?"
"Now I do," he answered truthfully, his voice quieter.
"Edward?" Bella's voice was as quiet as his now.
"Yeah?"
"I need you here with me," she pleaded into the phone, her voice cracking.
"Look outside your window," he told her, laughter in his voice.
She opened the window and looked outside, there he was. "Edward," she breathed into the phone.
"Open the window," he told her waving from outside. She did as he said and in a moment, he was standing beside her.
"Edward," she was breathless. Suddenly the numbness went away and she could feel the pain from the cuts on her wrists. "Fuck!"
Edward looked to the cuts on her wrists and backed away. "Bella," he warned her.
She gasped at the blackness of his eyes and ran to the bathroom. She washed her arm quickly, tears running down her cheeks. When she walked out of the bathroom, no one was left. All that was left was a simple note.
'I'm sorry I left you Bella. But you don't have to worry again. I'm not leaving you anymore. I love you.'
Smiling, she held the note to her chest. "Everything will be all right," she said quietly to herself.
