i was listenig to the song when it got me thinking of all the things Alice does and how long they can take!
DISCLAIMER: do i need to put anything here??
3:15
"Hey, Alice, I'm but the water fountain waiting on you. I know you love too shop, but could you hurry up please? We said we'd be back at 3:00 and it's 3:15. Love you, bye." I said in to the phone as I left my wife a message. We were out shopping and shopping with Alice took forever. It was a good thing she had a notorious streak for taking so long, or Carlisle and Esme might think something had happened to us.
3:45
"Alice, hey, could you please hurry up? Esme'll be mad. If we're not back soon. So, please, please, let's get going." I said once again. Alice needed shopping rehabilitation. I love her more than anything, but shopping wasn't very fun. For me, at least.
4:30
I was getting my phone out of my pocket as an elderly man sat down next to me.
"So son, are you waiting on a woman?" He asked as he turned toward me.
I put my phone back in my pocket and replied to his question. "Yeah, she's an hour and a half late." I looked him in his clear, blue eyes.
"Son, let me tell you something, since 1952 I've been waiting on a woman. When I picked her up for our first date, I told her I'd be there to pick her up at 8, and she came out of the house at 8:30.
"She told me she was sorry that she had taken so long, she didn't like what she'd tried on. But, let me tell you son, she sure looked pretty."
I thought about what he was saying. Alice took forever, even with vampire speed, to get ready when I take her out, but it's always worth it when she finally comes down.
"The wedding took a year to plan, and talk about an anxious man! I was so nervous." Then he nudged my arm like old men do and said, "Let me tell you about the honeymoon, it was worth it." I laughed along with him at that.
Our wedding to 4 months, and I was always nervous, which, with my ability, made everyone else nervous too. And our honeymoon to a remote island in the Pacific was wonderful.
"And we haven't been anywhere she hasn't made us late I swear! Boy, it's just a fact of life, it'll be the same with your young wife. She'll take her time, cause you don't mind, waiting on a woman.
I've read somewhere statistics show the man's always the first to go and that makes sense because I know, she won't be ready. But when it comes my time, and I cross over to the other side, I'll find myself a bench and sit down, and wait on a woman."
I thought about all he had said, and decided, that I didn't mind waiting on Alice either. Sh could take as long as she wanted, all she needed, and I would wait for her.
"Sorry I took so long Jazz, the lines where crazy long!" She said as she came over to where I was sitting.
I looked up at her and said, "I don't mind, Alice, I don't mind at all." I winked at the old man next to me, waved goodbye, and left with my Alice.
"What was that all about?" She asked me as we go tin the car.
"Oh nothing." I told her as we drove off.
