It started as a pretty good day. People lived their lives the way they could doing this dark time. No one knew of the incoming death bringer.
Boom!
"Woah! Did you see that explosion! That was suh-weet!"
Leo sighed as he glanced over towards his brainiac brother. "Tell me again why exactly we are watching this, Donnie?" Donnie looked offended.
"I'll have you know, Leo, that the second World War is an important part of the modern world's history. Without it, everything would be so much different to this very day." A pause. "It also keeps Mikey entertained."
"Look at that tank, bros! So cool! And those flamethrowers!"
"We get it, Mikey!" Raph facepalmed.
The four brothers sat in comfortable peace with each other as they watched the older documentary. They watched with awe and horror as the two bombs were dropped on Japan's cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
"Woah...dudes..."
The older brothers turned to the youngest, ready to comfort the more life-loving turtle. They didn't expect the younger to have a thoughtful look on his face. They began to worry for their lives. That's when he turned to look at them.
"You know how Splinter and Shredder are both from Japan?"
"Well, yeah. But-"
"And how Shredder's last name is Saki?"
"I don't see why you brought up shredhead-"
"And how he's like a snake in a man's body, meta- metaf- metafocally?"
"You mean metaphorically-?"
"And how a snake and man creature is called a naga?"
"From mythology-?"
"Does that mean the Shredder is Nagasaki?"
"..."
"..."
"..."
Mikey gave a proud smile. "In that case! We can destroy the Shredder like the bomb destroyed that city! We can beat him and stop the war between us!"
The older brothers looked at each other before giving the younger small, soft smiles.
"Sure, Mikey."
I was bored in history class. This happened.
