Chocolate Sharks
He walks into the ARC at his normal time, just to find that she isn't there. It's blatantly obvious when she's not poking out from some random corner to greet him.
"Where's Jess?" he finally asks. It's close to midday by now. She's never gone.
"Home, mate," Connor tells him. "I hear it's shark week."
It takes a while for him to think about what Connor's referring to, but once he gets it it's like an epiphany.
Lester let's them go home earlier than usual. Abby and Connor mutter something about going out for dinner; he politely declines.
Minutes later, he's arriving at her house with the biggest bar of chocolate he could find at the market.
"What are you doing here?" she asks, blanket wrapped around her, hair in a haphazard ponytail.
"Nothing with orange in it, right?"
Yes, Hilary Becker did have his moments.
