This wouldn't stop bugging me, so I wrote it. Sorry if it sucks! I hope you enjoy it and please review.
I don't own anything!
Blaine woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of his phone blasting the song "Animal" in his ear. He quickly glanced at the clock beside his bed before answering.
"Hello?" he answered, somewhat confused. Why was Kurt calling him at 3:30am? Had something happened?
"Blaine..." Kurt sounded really upset, like he was trying to hold back sobs, and he was sniffling a little.
"Baby, what's wrong? Talk to me." Blaine was suddenly a lot more awake. He had to know what had made Kurt this upset.
"I had a d-dream, a really b-bad one." Kurt sounded like he was going to burst into tears at any moment. Never in his life had Blaine felt such a strong urge to protect anyone. Too bad he lived about a half-hour drive away from Kurt's house. And it was almost 4 in the morning, but that didn't matter so much right now.
"In my dream, K-Karofsky went insane, and he started k-killing people that I love. F-first he went after New Directions and h-he killed all of them a-and Mr. Schue. Then, he k-killed my dad and Carole. He t-tried to kill me t-too, but you came to st-stop him. He st-started to attack you an I w-was trying to-to get him off of y-you, but h-he wouldn't stop and – " Kurt stopped trying to hold back his tears and Blaine could hear big heaving sobs coming from his phone, even if Kurt tried to cry quietly.
"Shh, Kurt, it's okay. I haven't gone anywhere. I'm safe, you're safe, everyone's safe. No one's coming after either of us. It was just a dream." Blaine kept talking quietly and calmly, trying to calm Kurt down. It was just breaking his heart to hear Kurt this upset.
"Thanks, Blaine," Kurt whispered. "Sorry I woke you up, but I had to talk to you, and hear you talk. Make sure you were okay and make sure it was really all a dream."
"Kurt, I don't care what time it is, if you need to talk, you call. I'll always be free to talk to you."
"Will you stay on the phone while I go back to sleep? I think that will help a lot." Kurt sounded like a shy little kid.
"Sure, whatever you want." Blaine would have done anything Kurt asked him to do.
They both put their phones on speaker phone on the bed next to them, and just layed there, listening to each other's breathing.
When Kurt's light snores started coming through Blaine's phone, he decided that it was okay for him to go to sleep now.
"I love you, Kurt," he whispered, knowing that the other boy was asleep. "Goodnight."
