"Mamaaaaaa, just killed a man! Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead!" Fifteen-year-old Tonks sang at the top of her lungs. Staring into the vanity mirror, she swung her hips, foolishly using her wand as a makeshift microphone. "Mamaaaaaa-"

BAM! The door swung open and Andromeda burst into Tonks' bedroom with the speed of a woman half her age, face completely pale. Tears sprung to her eyes. "No… No, no, NO! What have you done, Dora?! WHY? How—how could you do such a thing? Where on EARTH did you even get your hands on one of those killing machines?!" She wailed, waving her hands through the air. "Your father and I—we tried so hard!" Now, she was sobbing. "Tried so bloody hard to keep you from turning into Bellatrix! But I always knew, with that crazy look in your eyes… Merlin help us! We must dispose of the corpse IMMEDIATELY, OR-"

Frozen, Tonks looked up to her mother, brown eyes close to bulging out of her very head. Not even her hair knew what to do with itself, settling on an unsure maroon. After what felt like ages, her jaw muscles kicked into gear and very cautiously, the teenager said, "It's…it's a muggle song, mum…Dad taught it to me..." Her voice cracked.

Several seconds of uninterrupted silence passed, save for a few sniffles from Andromeda.

Immediately, Andromeda looked away, laughing almost shrilly. Her stance was completely rigid. "O-of c-course, I knew that! I'm one of those hip mums, y'know!" She nodded emphatically, the fake smile plastered across her lips so large that her face felt like it would crack in half at any moment. "I was-was only teasing, love. Just...joking about." She gave Tonks a playful nudge to the shoulder but the awkward cloud hanging overhead didn't lessen in the slightest. Now, she was slowly but insistently inching towards the door. "Y-you carry on then, sweetheart. I…I'll…I have to-…"

She leaped out of her daughter's bedroom quicker than she'd came.

From downstairs, Tonks could hear her father yell with concern, "Merlin's balls, Dromeda! Are you alright? Darling, what happened? You look like you've seen a ghost! …Dorie did what?"
