Welcome to my second ever fanfiction. This was written while trying to write another. Apoarently that happens a lot.

Coming home
The journey from central park to Asgard was jarring to say the least. Loki stumbled as they landed but Thor, as surefooted as always, kept him on his feet. He supposed he should be thankful for that at least, ended up with a broken nose because he tripped would have just made a really bad day all that much worse. "We're here brother" Thor observed. Loki rolled his eyes at that, what did the oaf expect to have happened, though the muzzle forced him to refrain from releasing the cutting remark that danced on his tongue. It was probably for the best though as when Loki looked into his Brother's eyes he only saw sorrow and regret.
They had landed in the gardens adjecent the royal wing of the palace, where he had lived and grown. A deep seated feeling of regret swept through him as he let his eyes wander over building that had for many years been his home. The gardens were thankfully empty when the landed, he assumed it was Odin's doing and was silently thankful. "We're going to the family rooms brother, Mother and Father are waiting there for us." Thor commented as they started walking in the right direction. The brothers walked together in silence until they reached the large wooden doors that served as the main entrance to the room. Thor stopped for a moment, seemingly waiting for something. "Are you ready brother?" Thor asked looking at Loki with such regret that it was all Loki could do to nod gently, all thought of anger at this family replaced by fear of what was about to happen now that he was to see them again and a vague sense of relief at the fact that they still did wished to see him.
The doors opened and it was as if he had never left. The All-Father was sat in his chair by the fire while his mother was sat on the window seat, looking out over the grounds. Both figures stilled when the brothers entered and there was a moment where nobody moved. It was Frigga that reacted first, she ran to Loki hugging him tightly for a long moment before letting go. Her hands remained glasped on his shoulders as she held him at arms length looked him over. "Thor! What have you done to your brother, take the chains and this thing off him" She ordered gestering to the muzzle that was still attached to his face. Thor looked to his father who nodded slightly, giving his permission for Loki's release.
Once Loki was free of his bonds his mother hugged him again, whispering in his ear of her love for him and her relief at having him back home with them again. Once Loki had been released from her grasp, Odin stepped forward. The feelings that swept through Loki at seeing the man he, even now, thought of as father again were surprising to him, he had expected to feel anger, resentment and sorrow but all he felt was an ache in his chest that he couldn't describe with words, even to himself. He lowered his gaze to the floor and waited for the All-father to speak, he was surprised then when he was crushed to the older man chest in a hug worthy of Thor. Odin didn't say he loved Loki or that he had missed him greatly, not in words at least, but when he heard his father welcome him home and call him son, he knew these things to be true.
