A/N This is only my second fanfic ever, so yeah, don't murder me! And please do review and and give your opinion on either what you think, grammar (I'm not English, so it's actually much appreciated if you correct me when I'm wrong) or if you got any great ideas for what should happen onwards. :)

Thank you for reading lovelies! xx

She would go about, pretending everything was fine. He'd almost believe her if it wasn't for those years of training. You could say James took pride in understanding the female emotions pretty good. Or, well, to say he understood may be going a bit far, for he didn't understand why girls would be totally happy and carefree, then the next moment burs into tears for no apparent reason. And he most definitely didn't understand the complexity of a female mind and heart. Especially not the female mind and heart of a certain miss Lily Evans.

Lily Evans may not have be aware of the fact, but she did not only own her own complex heart, for James had long ago decided that his heart too belonged to the beautiful, tempered redhead. Whether she agreed to this or not was irrelevant, for James was sure that one day she'd open her eyes and realize what was already hers, and give to him what was already his.

Destiny he called it.

Bullshit Sirius called it.

In your dreams Lily called it.

People would stop her in the hallways, or in the Great Hall to ask her if she was fine, whether or not she was doing okay. And she would always answer them: - Yes! Yes, of course. It's been a month now, I'm.. I'm fine! A lot of people have it worse than me these days!

And they would answer something along the lines of : - Good, good, you're such a strong girl!

or just give her a weak smile before continuing on with their day as usual. Not thinking more about the heartbroken girl they leave behind.

But James, he knew. He knew how was all just a mask. He knew how Lily needed someone to poor her soul too, someone who would sit and listen, and be the shoulder for her to cry on. And it broke his heart every day how he couldn't help. For why would she poor out her soul to him? The bullying toe-rag she loved to hate?

- James, you could just ask her how she's doing, Remus suddenly said. He had been in the middle of a long speech about the dwarfs and the merpeoples rights in society, to which James hadn't been paying any attention-

- Hmm? Who? Lily?

- Yes, Godric, it doesn't seem like you think about anything else anyways. Just ask her if she's doing okay.

- Of course I can't just go up to Lily Evans and say: "Hey, I heard you parents died, everything okay? Cause I know it's not!" She hates me Remus! You know that!

- C'mon James, stop saying that. That was fifth grade, you're even heads together now! You see her every morning and night, and you have rounds together twice a week. I can't even remember the last time she exploded on you!

- Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure she still hates me, James answered bluntly.

He started to walk away, he wasn't going to listen to any more of this. He knew she couldn't stand him. He could hear Remus yell after him.

- Just because she hasn't confessed her love for you doesn't mean she still hates you. She considers you as a friend now, and I would say you are doing a very bad job at it, avoiding her this whole month! Her parent died for Merlins sake, go talk to her!
