Bitter Sweet

What happens when the only person who always know exactly what you're thinking and how you feel can't tell anymore? Sad Raven Robin one shot

You will never care for me the way I do for you, will you?

A small smile appeared on Raven's face as Robin rushed out the door excitedly. She had cracked the case. They knew Tripod's weakness and were he was going to strike next all because of Raven's wit. Tripod had been terrorizing the city for months killing innocents left and right. And yet….

Raven felt no satisfaction whatsoever the only thing she felt was pain. Thinking of Robin's broad grin after she cracked the code had made her heart warm before it broke into a million pieces. He would never know how much each smile and word of praise meant to her. He was her world but he didn't even know it.

Or perhaps he did and didn't know how to deal with it, how to deal with the fact that his best friend loved him. Not in a middle school week long crush kind of way but in a passionately, deeply in love that only happens in the movies kind of way. The type of love that lasts and only grows as it goes on. Raven couldn't understand how he couldn't know. It wasn't like she hid it from him. It was there always there.

It was the bitter sweet way she'd smile or the sad tone in which she'd say thank you or goodbye. It was the look in her eye when she watched him with someone else trying only to wish good things for him and whom ever he was dating. Oh, yes. It was there for all to see.

And he was missing it.

Of course, with a distraction like Starfire who could blame she was pretty, nice and got along with most people. She had no trouble with making friends and sticking her emotions out on the line. With her nice body, dazzling eyes and long shiny hair, she was every mans dream.

Where as Raven was dark and creepy. Scary on the outside and depressed on the inside. Raven pushed people away and let only a few in. She was anything but happy and normal and people rejected her for it. Only those she let in didn't hate her. They were supposed to know they were the ones who under stood. Robin should've understood but he didn't.

He was missing her open doorway.

And it killed her.

Everyday he missed it

And every day she'd die inside

Until there would be nothing left…….
