I don't own anything. Warnings: Tissues may come in handy, cupcake warning. I will decide to continue or not based on what people think.

My name is Stephanie Michelle Plum, actually its Manoso now. I just married my Batman. I'm 5'7", normally 130 lbs on a good day (depended on the Tasty Pastry and Pinos), with curly brown hair and blue eyes. Batman is Ricardo Carlos Manoso aka Ranger. He is Cuban with long black hair, mocha latte skin, and deep brown eyes with muscles on top of muscles. Ranger is a former Army Ranger and the owner of Rangeman, a security company. Ranger and I have been in a relationship for the past year after my final break up with my ex-boyfriend, Trenton cop, Joe Morelli. I am currently seven months pregnant with Batman Jr.

I was currently dancing with my new husband. I couldn't wait for our honey moon.

"Babe, you're looking at me the same way you looked at the cake earlier. Should I be worried?"

I smiled, "Sorry Batman, I just can't wait till tonight."

We had been dancing for what felt like hours but was only thirty minutes when the door to the VFW was thrown open and a drunk Morelli burst in.

"Manoso, you fucking asshole, marrying my cupcake. She should be my wife, carrying my child. Fucking prick!"

I watched in almost slow motion as Morelli raised a gun. Ranger pushed me onto the ground behind him as he drew his weapon.

"Put down the gun Morelli! You're drunk. Put down your gun and go home."

I watched from the floor as Morelli pulled the trigger. I watched almost in a haze as Ranger fell with blood on his white dress shirt, so much blood. I grabbed Ranger's dropped gun and fired. I kept pulling the trigger until the clip was empty. I dropped the gun and grabbed up Ranger as Bobby worked on him.

"Don't you dare die on me Carlos. You promised me forever. You promised me someday. Our son needs to know his father. Don't die!" I clung to Ranger as I realized that Bobby had sat back, his blood covered hands in his lap.

"Bobby, why aren't you trying to help him? Do something please?"

Lester wrapped his arms around me from behind as Bobby held my gaze, "I'm sorry Bomber, Steph. There's nothing I can do. He's gone. I'm so sorry."

I cried into Ranger's hair as I held his body. I felt our son, Rico; kick against the back of Ranger's head as it rested on my belly.

Chaos reigned all around me as they dealt with Morelli's body and the scared guests but I didn't care. My love, my husband, my son's father was gone from me forever.

Three Days Later

I sat between my mother and Ranger's mother as the taps played. I watched as they fired a twenty-one gun salute. I watched as they folded the flag and I accepted it as they handed it to me. I was numb. The only thing I could feel was Rico. I watched as they lowered the coffin containing my husband into the ground. I sat and watched as they filled the hole. I briefly wondered how long until the headstone would be delivered. I had a hard time deciding on what it should say but I finally decided on 'Devoted husband, father, son, soldier'. I cried as the moms made me leave.

I stopped and turned to look at the fresh dirt one last time, "Good bye my love. I'll always love you."
