Sucks

Heroes are the ones with superpowers or cool weapons. Other people in the skies or news.

I had to cut through the parking lot and get that thing into my skin. Man, it hurt worse than the time I fell onto my nuts shredding the iron rail.

Now everyone thinks I'm crazy, muttering to the suit with a voice that only goes in my head.

I don't have a mentor, since he's dead. That's how I got the beetle suit.

Now I have a prophecy as an over-controlling, trigger-happy enforcer for the bad guys!

Fate has it in for me.

Buried

Jaime was still there inside the stupid beetle.

It's the most painful, antagonizing…just horrible…experience.

He couldn't control anything. Not an eye twitch, not a blink, a breath—nothing.

If the beetle wanted to jump off a cliff, he was at its total mercy.

Mentally screaming didn't help when he saw the world through eyes that weren't his anymore.

Mentally screaming didn't help when the beetle used his mouth to talk, persuading Ty and the others to go to Green after showing his identity.

Mentally screaming didn't help when he realized that Green had been a trap he threw himself at.

Free

A sudden awareness of another mind…and I was unleashed.

No longer bound by the constraints of the malfunctioning technology.

No longer having to argue with that infuriating meatbag.

I could do what I wanted, so long as I kept my host in character. I had my own mentor, the wise Green Beetle who had freed me.

Consent is no longer bound by the host. I can be myself, and do what I was supposed to do. The pain and guilt of not doing my duty no longer assuages me.

Yet I cannot help but wonder about Jaime…what must he think?

Duo

I am serving my purpose-to serve my creators, the Reach.

Every move he makes, I scream. Because those are my friends, my species, my family, that he's talking with, eating with, betraying.

The meat constantly complains to me—I must ask Green Beetle if this is usual. However, I am uncertain if he would see me as defective, as I am not crushing the meat's neural system.

This thing doesn't have a conscience! But I'm going to to get around it.

The destiny of Earth is to be the Reach.

Earth's gonna fight every second, and so am I.

I've decided to make a new story for all the other stories, because it's too painful for me to upload to 100 Suns, what with the last chapter. I'm sorry I haven't been writing, as there's been a recent death.

This is the original 3rd chapter of "100 Suns".
