I don't own Percy Jackson or anyone else from his story, Rick Riordan does. Flames will be used in Hephaestus's workshops to make weapons.

Falling, deep into the abyss.

Don't look down, there is no end.

The darkness is everywhere,

the light is long gone.

Shadows envelope everything,

hiding everything in sight.

Falling, falling, holding hands.

Distraught cries lost up above.

As long as we're together.

How much longer will they fall?

Desperate grabs at open air,

nothing but each other in the dark.

Are they blind?

No, there is an absence of sight.

Are they doomed?

No, there is an absence of hope.

Only on soul before has survived,

barely, insanity was drawn in.

Was he broken permanently?

There is no way to know,

and no one can answer the question,

but there may never be a chance to ask.

Promise me.

Grasp her hand tighter, reassurance is key.

He will let no harm come to her,

not when he grabbed her, and not when they fell.

The Earth was mocking them.

wonderful sacrifices to wake the goddess.

No, she will never be sacrificed.

Not if he can help it, and he can.

Falling, falling, is there no end?

Everything must end, life, the fall, their sanity,

but not their love.

They have to find a way out.

Find a path to help their friends.

Their friends that were too late to help them.

She tried to help him, but he was beyond being saved.

... let me go. You can't pull me up.

Closed eyes remembering better times.

Times of safety, times of happiness.

All of those times include her.

Falling, falling. Sobbing, sobbing.

He comforts her as best he can,

trying to hide his fear as well.

She is glad she doesn't have to experience this torture alone.

Never. We're staying together. You're not getting away from me. Never again.

She smiled to herself.

Nothing is hell with him beside her.

Then Percy let go of his tiny ledge and together, holding hands, he and Annabeth fell into the endless darkness.

Soooo, how was it? This is a one shot, but review and give me ideas for more poems or stories!

Make sure to check out my other story, "The Gods learn the truth." ;)
