Games were childish, pointless, and utterly ridiculous in Draco's eyes. He detested them all, from the stupid wizard chess competitions the first years played in the common room, to the inane tricks the idiotic Weasley twins played on everyone.
But Draco believed Hermione Granger's mind games were the worst of all.
It was the way she would smile softly at him from across the Potions when she thought he wasn't looking, but turn away in disgust when he tried to flash a flirty smirk at her.
And how she had always been "that insufferable know-it-all in Potter's house", until third year, when she became "that insufferable know-it-all in Potter's house who punched him in the nose, then left him a box of tissues in the hospital".
And how he had thought she looked beautiful at the Yule ball, but suddenly realized that she looked that beautiful everyday, and he had been to arrogant to take a closer look.
If this was a game, the rules were anything but fair.
It wasn't fair that she adored everyone but him.
It wasn't fair that she chose that Wesley boy over him.
It wasn't fair that his Father was likely to kill him if he found out he had even given that "filthy mud-blood" a second glance.
It wasn't fair that he had fallen in love with her.
Just a little Dramione drabble I wrote forever ago. Please read and review :)
