The King of Hyrule ordered the Seven Sages to seal the Sacred Realm. The Knights of Hyrule guarded the sages as they offered up their prayers, but demons descended upon them from within the Sacred Realm, and a fierce battle unfolded in which the majority of the combatants were killed.

He was tired, not exhausted quite yet, but he could feel weariness creep beneath his skin. Every so often, his head nodded and the words of the pages blurred into thick, unreadable lines. He didn't notice himself sinking down until the table hit his glasses and pushed them up into his face.

Shad sat up with a quick jerk and readjusted his glasses. He shook his head and took a sip of his now-lukewarm tea in an attempt to fight off sleep. Normally, the scholar could stay awake into the most unholy hours of the night reading countless books of myths and accounts, but tonight especially seemed to be a challenge.

The entrance to the Sacred Realm was sealed once again, tight enough that it should never have been reopened.

The pages became out of focus again, but this time Shad didn't stop it. He let his eyes fall shut and his back bend to lean against the tables, his arms becoming pillows.

A couple hours won't hurt, he decided.

His sleep was not heavy, but not light enough that he noticed a blanket be thrown over him and wrapped around his shoulders. He only barely awoke when he felt a tug at his face and his eyelids fluttered open only a bit to stare up at somebody taking his glasses from him.

"Ya' shouldn't sleep with your glasses on, Shad," The voice reprimanded him- if he was correct, that voice belonged to Link, "They'll break."

Shad grumbled something unintelligible to even himself.

Sleep came over him again as he felt a soft breath against his ear tied with a whisper; "G'night Shad."
