"Oh, come on, how bad can it be?"
"There is a reason it's called the Forbidden Forest."
"Come on Pieter, where's your sense of adventure?"
"Stuck in the castle." Erien sighed.
"Fine then, I'll go by myself." Erien turned and started to walk away.
"Wait! Fine, I'm coming." Erien was relieved, she didn't really want to go alone.
"Well come on then, we haven't got all night." The pair quietly made their way to the window closest to the greenhouses. The two kept it working and oiled, and it was the quickest and quietest way to get out (or run from people). Erien and Pieter had wandered around the grounds a lot, and could easily navigate it through the dark, but this was their first time in the forest.
"Lumos." Erien and Pieter lit their wands. Slowly, they walked into the forest.
"Look, a unicorn, and its baby!" Pieter whisper-shouted. The creature looked up. It was beautiful. The silver coat glowed like the moon, and its horn was gleaming silver. Beside her (Erien assumed it was the mother) the baby unicorn (gold and completely adorable) was eating some grass.
"Stay here," Erien whispered back. Pieter nodded. Carefully, she took a few steps forward, and the mother sniffed her cautiously. She held up her hand, and touched it to the unicorn's nose. She didn't move. Erien beckoned Pieter towards her, and he slowly approached. Soon they were both patting the unicorn's mane, and she let them meet the little one. Suddenly, Erien heard a noise behind her, followed by a strange clicking. The unicorns whinnied and bolted. Pieter and Erien spun around.
The scuttling and clicking intensified. Erien heard a dull thud, and grabbed Pieter's hand. They held up their wands, and the thing came into view. It was brown, hairy, and about the size of a cat. The light from their wands reflected in its eight eyeballs. Erien stood there frozen, a scream caught in her throat. Pieter squeezed her hand, dragged her away, and they started running.
Something got caught around Erien's foot and she fell, bringing Pieter down too. They landed in what looked and felt like a giant web, and slowly looked up.
It was huge. Far bigger than the other, about the size of a car. This time, both Erien and Pieter screamed and ran, and didn't stop till they reached the edge of the forest.
Erien fell to the ground, gasping. Pieter leaned on a tree beside her. She turned her head.
"Do you think the Weasley twins know they're there?"
The look Pieter gave her was memorable.
