The Red Head
Karen didn't exactly like kids. She thought they were dumb, annoying, smelly, and sometimes mean. Though, there was one little girl that she was especially fond of; Olivia Katherine Walker. Karen came into Olivia's life when she was only 8. When she married Stan, she wasn't too fond of the thought that she would have to deal with an 8 and 4 year old. It scared her quite frankly. She was only 30 and she was a mother…stepmother, rather. Mason hadn't really cared that he had 2 moms, but Olivia was furious. She had ONE mom and ONE mom only. Olivia would pull pranks on Karen, like, replacing her shampoo with old Dog Shampoo, or stealing her makeup supplies and throwing them away. Karen knew she was just blowing off some steam from her Daddy getting a divorce and marrying another woman. But one time, she went too far.

"OLIVIA KATHERINE WALKER!" Karen yelled as she stormed into Olivia's room.
"What?" She asked, innocently and then burst out laughing.
Karen's hair was purple. Olivia had actually put hair dye into Karen's shampoo bottle.
"This isn't funny, missy!" Karen shrieked.
"Chill out! It isn't permanent. It will come out after a few washes. Geeze!" Olivia said.
"I'm going to a banquet tonight with your father to meet the Mayor! And look what you did to my hair!" Karen started sobbing. She'd only been married to Stanley for 1 year now and was starting to go to dances and banquets with him as of last week. Olivia's smile wiped right off her face. Not only did she realize that she would be in a lot of trouble, she also realized how much she had hurt Karen.
"Karen," She touched her arm, but Karen pulled away and cringed like she had just touched a hot stove.
This action made Olivia start crying. "I'm sorry! I'm a horrible child! I'm just so angry that my Dad married someone 2 months after his divorce and my Mommy is in another state and I actually really like you, Karen. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
Karen walked over to Olivia and picked her up, letting her wrap her arms around Karen's neck and sob into her designer shirt. "Ssh…it's ok." She soothed.
After a few minutes, they both calmed down. Olivia pulled back and looked at Karen and then they both started laughing.
"We're a mess!" Karen giggled.
"I know! This is crazy!" Olivia agreed.
Karen set Olivia on the ground and grabbed her hand. "Come on, Red. Let's go look for a hat."
