"Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt." "Mello..." "Matt. Please, don't leave me. Matt sat beside his best friend, Mello. Tears fell down his cheeks without his realization. He tried to hide his fear, his sorrow, his stupidity. However hard he tried, Matt knew this night would be his last. The last night he could be with Mello. The last night he would obey his every command. The last night he could laugh and talk with him. The last night the would be earthly beings. But never the last night they would be best friends. That would be a bond that would hold forever, through thick and thin. "Matt. I think it would be wonderful to spend just one more morning with you. What a miracle that would be." "Mello..." "But then again, I don't believe in things like miracles." Matt couldn't say it. He wouldn't say it. 'Goodbye' That word doesn't exist within their worlds. The end will come soon. It was rapidly approaching morning. Matt didn't know why they had to kidnap Takada. Well, what else was there? Matt shot the smoke gun as he was told by Mello. "After him! He's heavily armed!" Matt sped away, leaving the rest up to Mello. They eventually caught up to him, forcing him to skid across the pavement. "Hey, since when were the Japanese allowed to carry such big guns? Alright, you got me. I'm part of this kidnapping. You'll probably have a lot of questions to ask me. You wouldn't sho-." Bullet after bullet, straight into his organs. "Mello..." He collapsed against his car, taking one last inhale of his cigarette before it fell from his lips. Mello sat in the moving van and watched his best friend bleed. "Matt! Goddammit, this wasn't supposed to happen!" Mello went in to where Takada was. "Take off your clothes." "D-Don't look at me." "Take off your clothes." Mello stood and watched her, completely unaroused at the slow movements she made to remove every article of clothing on her. A slip of paper fell out of her bra. Mello picked it up and wrote 'Kiyomi Takada' on it. "Goodbye." Takada stopped breathing and Mello walked away, making sure to set the place on fire. "Matt. I'm sorry." "For what?" A figure stepped out from the shadows and Mello looked up. "Matt! Y-You're alive!" "They don't make bullet proof vests for nothing." "I love you, you bastard." Although lives were lost, Matt and Mello can look up to the sky and together say, "Goodbye."

A/N: This is how I think it should have ended. Was it good? Please R&R! ^^
