Summary: Someone has to go and get them...

"I don't see why I have to go."

"Because I went last time and -" shudder "I'm not going through that again! Giles point blank refuses and I can't ask Dawn – she's too young and just the thought of it gives me the wiggins! No – it has to be you."

Sighing heavily, Willow sat down with a thump. She turned to look at Tara, an admittedly analytical look on her face. Her shoulders slumped – no, there was no way she could ask Tara to do it. It would be too cruel, and it was distinctly likely that Tara's fair skin would remain a dark shade of red for a very long time if she was forced to do it. Sensibly, Tara kept her head down.

"Does it have to be now? Can it wait a little while?" Willow knew she was whining but she felt it was acceptable – this was above and beyond the call of Scooby Duty.

"Willow – we need to clear out this nest asap. They have plans for that party over on campus and I can't handle them on my own. I need Spike to help me out. You know they never answer the phone. Someone has to go over there and it's your turn." With a gentle shove to Willow's shoulder, Buffy sat down next to her. She hated to make Willow do it but she had done it more than once, and it was only fair that the burden be shared. She wasn't going to put up with Willow stonewalling – there weren't enough cookies to make up for what she might well see if she did go.

"I don't see why I should have to go. And – and, it might not be as bad as you think..."

"Willow, please! Giles said he saw Xander come out of the fancy dress shop so you know how bad it's going to be."

"I don't – he could just have been returning something, taking something back." The two girls looked at each other, the same thoughts running through their head. They had made the mistake of talking to the owner of the fancy dress store once, curious as to why Xander was such a frequent visitor. Apparently, there were a few 'regular' rentals and the pirate outfit was extremely popular. They were also quite happy to pay extra for any damage done to the costumes. In fact, the woman behind the counter said she had told them it was probably cheaper to buy their own version of a couple of the outfits but both Xander and his 'partner' had explained they liked coming to the shop and making their choice for the weekend, and she was always happy to see them. Apparently they often went into the changing room to try things on and occasionally things got a little heated...

"Willow – this is just not fair. I did it last time, and I will never be able to fantasise about a gorgeous man in dress uniform again. I mean, yeah, Xander looked – wow, just – anyway, that's not the point! I didn't need to see Spike doing that!"

"Rock, paper, scissors?"Looking up through her fringe, Willow knew she wasn't going to win this battle.

"Nope, not a chance. And don't bother with the cookies thing - there aren't enough cookies in the world to make me do this. Giles said Xander came out of the shop with a cap or something on his head – sounds like it's a uniform costume again." Dropping her head to the table, Willow realised she was defeated. Procrastination wasn't going to stop this from happening – she was going to have to go and get them.

"Fine, but it's no wonder I'm a lesbian!"
