Broken Time – Lover's peril
He is my destiny. There's no doubt about that. I was born to protect, love and live for this man. Cho Hakkai thought as he threads his slender fingers through his lover's crimson locks. It had been four years since the Sanzo party had completed their 'mission' and went their separate ways. Their former leader, Genjo Sanzo couldn't shake the little sage that traveled with them, Son Goku. The last Hakkai had heard from them, they had a house in a town not far from where they were staying. They, of course, would be him and his best friend-turned lover, Sha Gojyo.
This emerald eyed man first fell for the half-breed when he was found face down on the woodland floor. Gojyo had left the bar, once again bothered by the women he always had flocking to him making a fuss about his hair. The color of blood, they called it. This brought up bad memories for the kappa, in turn sending him on a solitary walk through the woods. At least, it was solitary until he ran up on a man laying face first in the mud.
Hakkai didn't remember much between the times he left the scene of his crime and when he woke up in the soft, comforting bed belonging to the man he had caught a glimpse of before he blacked out. When he awoke, he was staring up into the most beautiful pair of crimson orbs he had ever seen. They were unlike any other he had witnessed. Not just because of the color, marking the other as a half-breed, but their shape, the softness mixed with a hint of irritation that dwelled in the pools of red. They were almost hypnotic to the injured man.
At least, that's what he thought until he heard his savior speak. The drawl that emitted from those perfectly parted lips sent a shiver down Hakkai's spine.
Now, four years later, the man that had saved the damned man was lying right there beside him. Both were nude beneath the thin blanket they shared during the hot summer nights. Gojyo, exhausted from the play that they had engaged in earlier, lie on his side; his chest rising and falling evenly as he slept peacefully by Hakkai's side. The plant demon couldn't help but give a soft smile at the sight.
Now, don't jump to conclusions. These two's journey wasn't exactly paved with gold. There were bumps and bruises, scars and wounds still yet to heal completely. Yes, all may be find and good now, but it wasn't always that way. Let me take you back to the time just before the infamous Sanzo Party broke apart to start their own journeys. Let us travel back four years, to the time where love was said to be eternal, friendships were made to last, and the past was meant to be forgotten.
